You'd be surprised, actually. It's more common than you seem to think it is.

I wonder if the same applies to those who put value on love and such.

I laugh at the implication that not having sex somehow means that there's something wrong with a person. That's where society fails.

Sex is something you do for pleasure, yes. However, on a far more important level, it's something you do to populate the Earth with more demon-spawn. The only reason that sex is so taboo and everyone is worried about whether or not everyone else is having it, is because we've elevated the importance of it to such an inane level.

We've taken what should be about the act of making babies and twisted it into something far bigger and more important than it should be on a social level. Which isn't to imply that procreation aint great for society, being what it is, but who the fuck thinks about that part of the equation until after they've accidentally knocked someone up anyway? Or been knocked up if you're on the other side of that particular equation? No, we think about sex solely on terms of sticking something into someone else, or having it stuck in you if you're so equipped, or inclined for that matter.

Sex can be a beautiful act with the right partner, but strip that bond away, and you're left with an act the mechanics of which are sort of disgusting in a way. If you strip it down to the base level and remove the baby-making part of the equation, you're left with something that's not really all that special, and nothing that couldn't be achieved manually.
There's really no pride to be had in having had sex, and no real tangible social benefit in having a lot of it beyond that your equally stupid friends might think you're cool. But hey, well done. You're all celebrating having done something that I saw a couple of monkeys doing at the zoo the other day. Yeah, you're not special because you can do it too.

What I'm really getting at is that whether or not you've had sex means shit, and to imply that someone is better or worse off for it is too stupid for words. This isn't high-school. Grow up.

Presumably so. But, I suppose the question remains what love is. At least sex is directly quantifiable.

You can't really define love, much less describe it. Its effects, on the other hand, yes. The only thing I can say is that you know what it is when you've felt it.

Speaking of virgins, look what the failcat brought in...
Awww, CMM deleted his post. Shame.

One night after a school dance would be my first, and thus far, only time. Lot's of skanks in my area that would hump anything that moves pretty much, so I took advantage of the offer at an afterparty. It was pleasurably satisfying, but like most things with lot's of hype, overrated. I'm not like most guys I know, I can't be in a relationship just for sex. I don't have the patience for it, and sex is far from worth it.

One day, if I meet someone who I could see myself enjoying spending the rest of my life with, that would be great. But, if I don't, I will have more time to pursue my goals and dreams.

And the sex with that person will be much different.

It's common now for people to actually request STD testing when engaging in a serious relationship. What a world...

I wouldn't call it "common" but it isn't unheard of.

From what I've heard, it is. Not like it's a bad thing, though. I actually encourage this kind of behavior, what with people sleeping left and right.

With AIDS still being uncurable and fatal, can you really blame them?
