Do you have a router? If not, then are you using a crossover cable?

Yeah that's a cross over cable.

    Go into Network connections

Right click on the device your using to FTP to the Xbox with and select properties, go down to internet protocol (TCP/IP) and double click it.

Change its address to 192.168.0.1, and subnet mask to 255.255.255.0, click ok.

    STEP 1 COMPLETE.

In your Xbox (depends on which dashboard your using though). Go into settings / network. Change/make sure its IP is 192.168.0.2 and make sure the password & username are "xbox" and "xbox" (minus quotes).

    STEP 2 COMPLETE.

In your FTP software of choice (I recommend FlashFXP. Although it is not free.)

Go into quick connect, enter the IP: 192.168.0.2, username: xbox, password: xbox. And you should be presented with C, D, E, X, Y and Z.

Keep the fuck outta C drive unless you know what your doing in there.

in the 1st pic where you tell me to click properties it says "Local Area Connection" not "Xbox" unlike yours.

im using unleash X should the xbox ip be dynamic or static.

    1. I know I renamed it so i know which is which. Plus I did say for the ethernet card your using to connect to the Xbox.

    2. Static: and make sure it's 192.168.0.2

    thanks i'll try it.

[22:54:21] A connection attempt failed because the connected party did not properly respond after a period of time, or established connection failed because connected host has failed to respond.
    [22:54:21] Client closed the connection.

maybe it's not working because i have the internet on my wireless network conection through the usb?

now that im lloking i might've made the cable wrong as i can't tell the blue from b/w apart looking to the cable.

    I dunno.

But if you have a shite firewall running (Like Zonealarm or Window's) Then disable it. ZA used to deny my FTP connections. :O

It took me a good few hours to work out, but I can set it up instantly now. Just not hard.
