I think the qoob pro doesn't require any soldering of the sort. Where to buy them. I don't know.

What is the difference between chips and what are the various things they can do??... As well how hard is it to soder them on the gamecube... or as before is anyone knows a non-solderable ones since i have never soldered before....

The only difference between the SX and Pro is the addition of a USB dongle on the Pro series. It lets you rip games directly through the USB port. Personally, I prefer using the Broadband Adapter on the network, because both chips have a webserver built into the chips. You just put in the IP address of the Cube, and "download" the ISO to your computer.
Soldering is semi-complicated. It depends on which motherboard revision you have. There are A, B and C motherboard revisions. On one motherboard, you have to remove the CPU heatsink to get to the BIOS chip, on the others the BIOS chip is on the bottom of the motherboard, so you don't have to remove the heatsink. (I lucked out and didn't - I have a DOL-101). Soldering is difficult unless you have real steady hands, and I don't. But it's not impossible. I think it took me about an hour from disassembly to finish.

through the USB thing you can backup your games onto your computer.... so does taht mean you can play those games through your computer??or how does that work? playing backed up games?

You'll only be able to play ISOs on a modded Cube until emulation gets WAY better.

so then this usb version sounds like my best et for what i want.... i just need to figure out how to install the chip ....and the price of the chip and if it's still around haha. is it a hard interface once it is installed? or how does it work (for rip/burn/play or download/burn/play?)
