Tactics Ogre in-game saving problem

I can't save normally within the game itself. That is, saving with save-slates is still possible, however, when in-game saves are attempted a message with 'failure to save' pops up inside the game. I've tried solving this problem on my own by re-downloading the rom, re-extracting, downloading another version of the vba (1.7.2) getting another .sav file for TO from someone else (it failed to load his game too) and even with my own .sav file, it still fails to save in-game.

Aside from all that, I've made sure the 'COPYING', the VBA configuration settings and the TO.gba files were all in the same folder. Still didn't work. I'm also rather certain this isn't an application error since the problem occurs within the game itself with no error messages and whatnot appearing.

Did you put the GBA.bios where VBA is?

Move all your .sav and .sgm files for Tactics Ogre out of the folder where they are now.

Start VBA > Options > Emulator > Save Type > set it to both Flash and Flash 64k.

Now start a new game, and see if it saves in-game.

If you don't move all your old saves out of VBA's folder, this will not work.
And yes, you'll have to start a new game from the very beginning.
