If you want something that isn't overly manipulative moeblobs, I'd suggest any other anime that isn't comedy.

I'm not a fan of Clannad, to say the least.

Guys, please help me on this one.
When I was young, there was an anime (not sure whether it was really an anime or a cartoon), this anime is about Mechas that look like animal. It's a pretty damn cool mecha anime back then. If I'm not mistaken, there are 3 main heroes, each one of them has their own mecha with different animal of each mecha. One of the mecha could be a yellow tiger, leopard, cheetah or anything else that I forgot already. One of them has bird like mecha, could be phoenix, eagle or could be something else (I'm not too sure). Each one of this mecha will come out from different places. I still remember that one of them come from kids playground and the other one comes under a flyaway. Usually, all of these 3 mechas will combine to form a gigantic mecha and has a sword that it use as the final attack. Can anyone recall my memory back?! I really need to know this one..

Sounds like Battle of the Planets, which was an American bastardization of Toei's Science Ninja Team Gatchaman. That would fit the description rather well. They even got parodied on an episode of Megas XLR.

It could also be Zoids, a series with a ton of different mechs based around animals.

Thanks for the respond. Unfortunately it's non of them. I wanna add a new information that I can remember, the 3 heroes are all kids.

I'd recommend Gungrave; awesome anime that totally changes direction halfway through. Some might find it "short" at only 26 episodes (compared to hundreds in say, Ranma or DBZ), I think it's just right though. Plus the english voice acting is actually good.
"I think that the problem with this video is it is highly derivative of many popular bands within the genre. Although when viewed on its own merits, it does have a deeper groove. However what it has in groove, it lacks in originality. One can't help but be reminded of such bands as Pearl Jam, White Zombie, Suicidal Tendencies and other bands that bear the mantle of so called "Alternative Rock". One is even reminded of Lorie Anderson when she wore curlers. Hehehmhm! This video speaks less to the heart and more to the sphincter. In closing, I think Korn would do well to learn more from -"

Sounds interesting, I'll take a look at it.

I don't think 26 episodes is short, I prefer that over the hundreds ones (feels like they drag on to long than on many occasions)

26 episodes is a fine length.

Gungrave was decent and might be more of what Sheras is looking for.
