2009 = old? O_o No wonder the AARP is sending me membership cards at 22 years old.

He means the original series, which was in 2006. So yeah, it is somewhat old.

2009 was kind of a second season/complete version. Or rather, a re-airing of the original episodes with a couple of new ones (FUCK YOU TOO ENDLESS EIGHT) thrown in there.

Oh, right. There are so many bloody dividers in the box on the right in Wikipedia. Light Novel, Manga, Manga, TV Anime, Manga, Original Net Animation, Original Net Animation, TV Anime, Manga. Bitches need to sort by type rather than date.

I actually liked Endless Eight. If you saw Disappearance, Endless Eight makes a lot of sense. XD

But yes, Endless Eight isn't for everyone. . . Me and my sister sat through it on one day. XDD

Obviously, Ema Skye is hawt. And kickass.

Yeah, most of the people I talked to who say that EE isn't that bad watched it in one sitting or something.

I actually watched the show when it was still airing, one episode/week. So it took me eight weeks to watch all of EE, waiting for it to end week after week. It was painful, and that's where most of my hatred for it comes from.

So, before watching Mahou Shoujo Madoka Magika I'd never really had any interest in watching anime ever. I really loved it though, and now that it's finally over I'm a little sad that I no longer have something to look forward to on a weekly basis. I had quite a lot of fun watching something in a serialized format, and the cute animation + not so cute storyline just happened to be mixed perfectly together to catch and hold my attention through all twelve episodes. I'd be interested in picking up another series, even if it's not currently being produced and there's a million episodes I need to catch up on, but I have absolutely no idea where to even begin. As a result, I must ask, would anyone have any suggestions to offer?

They don't all have to be cutesy magical girl shows or anything like that, I'm pretty much open to anything. I have watched bits and pieces of Black Lagoon since it's been mentioned a million and a half times, and I'm not particularly interested in something that's super action oriented, but otherwise I don't have any huge preferences (except that I would prefer Japanese audio with subtitles, if possible -- hearing the occasional bit of Japanese dialogue makes me feel like maybe, someday, I might get around to studying it ). I think a decent number of the anime fans here have known me long enough that my personality should be somewhat familiar, and I don't think I've ever really been let down when picking up a recommendation from one of my EP friends. Also, if you've a suggestion and you know a good place to grab or watch episodes, would you kindly PM me a link or two? Thanks~!

I honestly don't know what to suggest for you, so I'll just say Seikimatsu Occult Gakuin (Occult Academy). Because I enjoyed it.

As for where to watch, the full series is on Crunchyroll. Or you can browse their categories if you want to pick something else based on your own taste. It's basically like Hulu. Episode with 3-ish commercial breaks in the middle.

To grab? I'm not sure if it's technically acceptable, but as long as you're not afraid of torrents, I'll suggest BakaBT.

Yeah, I'm having a hard time figuring out what shows you'd enjoy, so I'll just go ahead and mention a few of the ones I liked.

I recommended Aria to Elin and she loved it so much that she's even sporting an Aria-related avatar right now, so I suppose I might as well mention it again. But it's... uh, a very "Elin" kind of show, if that makes any sense. She and I both like it a lot, but it just might induce vomit in you. Something to keep in mind!

When you talked about cute art style + not-so-cute story, Higurashi no naku koro ni came to mind. At first I actually expected it to be a generic comedy show based on the art style. Then shit started happening.

If you're new to anime, you might want to give Death Note a watch. Yes, I know it's insanely popular and spawned an army of annoying fantards, but the show itself is pretty good.

Spice and Wolf is also pretty okay. It's more or less about the daily life of a medieval merchant with bits of romance, adventure and the supernatural thrown in there.

Gyakkyou Burai Kaiji: Ultimate Survivor is one of my all-time favourites. Should be good if you're interested in a good old "battle of wits" kind of show and manage to get over the extremely weird art style. The second season is actually airing right now.

And that's about it. There's a bunch of other shows, but they're mostly action-focused (Hellsing Ultimate and so on) and probably wouldn't appeal to you based on what you've said above.

    Also, PM sent.

Thanks, guys. Sorry I couldn't really offer more detail about what I am looking for, I really don't know myself. I'm quite happy to look into anything that you find interesting though, I do more or less already share a portion of my taste in video games with you both.

So apparently they announced an anime adaptation of Fate/Zero. It says nothing to me, but fans are kinda jizzing all over it. Hence the question I'm about to ask. Are these worth watching if I thought that both the Tsukihime and the Fate/Stay Night anime sucked (or at least wasn't anything special)?

And I've yet to play the VNs, but I swear to god I'll get around to it one of these days. Maybe. Epic backlog and such.

So I consider anything made after 2000 newer...*puts on old fogey glasses*

Also, I need something to watch. Drama preferred. Mecha I haven't heard of is also welcome, but could be hard to know.
