Oh shit. NO FUCKING WONDER. ATI tray tools was forcing everything running on my computer into 4x AA and 4x AF.
My level now doesn't dip below 60 FPS, and runs average around 100.
Also, for some reason, opening the HL2 video options and turning on 4x MSAA and 4x AF in there doesn't hurt performance.; I guess the ATI Tray Tools method is really process heavy or something.

Well, I had at least 1200 of both posts and rep I'm pretty sure, but posts and rep are just posts and rep so no big deal, it's the threads being lost for reference that sucks to me. :\ I'm just glad to see things seem to be going well around here. Nice to see there's still familiar faces around too.
