    Default ISO making problems

I am trying to make an ISO of one of my PS1 games. The game runs fine on my playstation even though the bottom is moderately scratched.

When i try to make the iso using Alcohol 120%, it gets about 60% through then just stops because of some disc read error.

I figure it did this because skip red errors isnt turned on. If i check the skip read error box, will the iso come out ok with errors in it?

If you check skip read errors it will make errors in the image, you can scan it with CDmage to see. However if you make a couple images sometimes it'll read the sectors just fine and you can import the good sectors all into 1 image with CDmage

Oh also, if you're using a DVD drive to rip your stuff try to find a CD drive. They work much much better.
*PSA* Wii Redump collector's can now unscrub ISO files. So scrubbed games can now be verified. You can find the program to do this here

What is the best software to make an iso for Ps1 and Ps2?

    ! THIS IS FOR PS1 !

It's a toss up between a few programs.

I'm gonna go ahead and say:

    1. CloneCD (Makes CCD, IMG, SUB disc images)
    or
    2. CDRWin (Makes BIN, CUE disc images)

    For PS2 I'd suggest DVD Decrypter/ImgBurn.

I always use CDRWin. Alcohol120 just sucks arse with both making copies as burning images.
However if the disc you're trying to copy is badly scratched, it'll take like forever to make an image, but I've heard toothpaste can used to polish some of the scratches.

You can always use Alcohol ONLY to mount images, though that's a bit over the top when you can do it with Daemon tools. As for burning, I always use Nero, but only because it came with my DVD burner. When I want to make an image of a PS1 game, I prefer ISObuster. Simple and efficient. Never had an issue with it, thought I can't say I've ripped that many games.

    For PSX & Saturn games.

    Ripping & Burning bin/cue:
    CDRWin

    Mounting to virtual Drive:
    Daemon Tools

For burning other formats besides cue/bin:
Mount to Daemon Tools, use CDRWin to create a new bin/cue from mounted image, then use CDRWin to burn new bin/cue.

Both CDRWin (demo) & Daemon Tools are free.

I would try ISOBuster. It hasn't failed me yet.

ISOBuster is good for ripping, but it can't be used for burning.

With Daemon tools, i have the option to download a 32 bit version and a 64 bit version. What is the difference? The numbers made me think of processors, of which i have an AMD. Which version should i download?
