I have a more practical view of things. The fact that a game were great in the past doesn't mean we can't learn to enjoy what the present time has to offer us. If nostalgia were to control our present we wouldn't be able to continue with our lives

Whoo boy. Looking forward to that shitstorm.
It seems they are going to use Kingdom Hearts battle system for it, which isn't surprising since KH was directed by Nomura. I haven't played KH myself but from what I heard it's actually not that much different from traditional turn based systems. You still have your menu system for all the strategic attacks, combos, magic, etc. but the bits that you would normally just select "attack" from the menu, you actually play in real time now. Unless I'm getting all of this wrong, then it is an actual improvement over the older system which is fitting for a remake.

Thats not it Cookie, if you noticed how they changed after the merger then you would understand just how much of a drastic change it is.

Yeah, I've noticed, and yeah, it was. But that's not going to stop me from enjoying whatever comes

    Never tried to stop you.

Well at least the remakes of FF4 and 4 Heroes of Light kinda had the Squaresoft magic.

    Anybody played AC Unity?
Can't say I'm enjoying it as much as I did Black Flag, although I need to upgrade skills etc. Combat system just seems sluggish, too many people all over the place and there's a shitload of stuff to do...which wouldn't be so bad normally but upgrading skills seems like a chore.

Maybe I might feel different after getting through all the main missions.

Isn't that the one Ubi intentionally made slow so people would purchase fast upgrade microtransactions?

Yes the game does have micro-transactions, but you can't upgrade certain skills until you progress further in the story anyway. Some of the skills are just dumb though, I mean stuff that should be standard. It's like they've combined previous mp elements with the main game or something idk.

I know a lot of people gripe about the old combat system etc in the AC series, but really it didn't get wildly different from game to game. Maybe if you played 1 then jumped to 4 it would seem different, but if you play through it evolves.

Unity just doesn't seem the same

This is awesome, a good friend gifted me Pier Solar offa Humblebundle.

Its DRM free and requires no installing plus its on all 3 OS's.

My only gripe is there is no sprite smoothing option but other than that its sweet.

Edit: I take that back, you CAN make it look better with smoothing, during gameplay you got to set it to HD+ instead of just plain HD.

You can also set it so it looks and sounds just like the Genesis version.

Anyone here familiar with Prince of persia warrior within? I have the ps3 version of the game, and tried to get started on it a week or so ago. Honestly the combat is so different from sands of time, that I found i was having a pretty hard time on normal even. In particular vaulting seems buggy i've noticed. According to the in-game controls list, it should be triangle triangle, but 9/10 times that just causes 2 slices with the secondary weapon instead of actually vaulting over an enemy. Anyone know whats up with that and/or have any general combat tips for the game?

So that Wii U emulator is making some good progress. The new version is currently capable of emulating Mario Kart 8 at a pretty good stage. Still seems kinda slow and buggy, but a big improvement from the last version.

Anyone know how to actually access the claptastic voyage dlc on the handsome collection? From what i've been able to google up it seems like its not included on the disc, but is free to download. However, when I check the playstation store it doesn't show up, only the game itself. Of note, i won't actually have the game for about a week or 2 depending on how slowly it travels(hasn't shipped yet).
