    Default Shenmue - Chankast problem

    Hey guys,

I recently downloaded the Shenmue.tar file from the torrent off this site. I also downloaded Chankast v0.25 from here. I installed everything and tried to play the mounted CD 1 image from shenmue but when I went to play it gave me a I/O Control error. I read some faq and saw that converting the file sometimes helps with that error, so I converted the original .CDI file into a .ISO file. I no longer received this error but when I load the image with Chankast it recognizes it as a music cd and not a game, it says "Please insert disc".

When I explor the image on my virtual drive there is only one file called track.cda that is 2kbs big, even though the entire image is 700+mb. So my question is, did I download a corrupt file?
Or is there something else im doing wrong?

No no, converting CDI to ISO is not good. Rendering the disc image unusable.

    - Take the CDI mount on Daemon Tools virtual drive,
    - Set CD-ROM plugin to "xxxx"
    - Start game

If that doesn't work mess around with the CD-ROM plugin.

Basically by converting it from CDI to ISO you're losing all the boot data, making it useless without a boot cd. Don't bother trying to load it with Utopia Boot Loader in Chankast, just use the selfboot CDI version.

Thanks mate, youre solution helped me get rid of the error. Although for some reason it still didn't work.
But I figured out why it still wasn't working, I was using Daemon 4.03 or something, so I downloaded v3.29 and loaded the image, its working great now.
