I would like to recommend a movie called Southland Tales. Really good movie just a little hard to follow.
The Wheel of Time turns, and Ages come and pass, leaving memories that become legend. Legend fades to myth, and even myth is long forgotten when the Age that gave it birth comes again.

Waiting for the Superman... makes me so mad (
Spirited Away, from the Studio Ghibli. A masterpiece.
Okay, if you like action, thriller and action/thriller, watch these movies I'm boutta post:
1. "A Bittersweet Life"
My all-time favorite movie. It's a Korean action/thriller which is about a man who is hellbent to get revenge on the mob-leader he worked for who sent out a death-warrant against him (Sun-woo in the movie, Lee Byung-hun is the actor however. He was the Asian guy in that J.I. Joe live action movie... Nobody saw that? Oh...). It's also slightly a romance, but it's a one-sided romance, so don't be like, "ROMANCE SUCKS!" before seeing it D It's full of LEGIT action, and it's SOOOO incredibly well-directed. Kim Ji-woon is by far my MOST favorite director... Hands down, suckas!
2. "Oldboy"
Another Korean action/thriller. This has become so incredibly popular in America, but I'm not sure if it has elsewhere. Nonetheless, it's freaking amazing, but is pretty damn screwy. Full of twists and an insane plot, and will probably leave you saying, "...The fuck!?" after finishing it.
3. Another Korean movie, "I Saw the Devil"
This is also directed by Kim Ji-woon (director of the above "A Bittersweet Life"), and is another action/thriller. However, this is A LOT gorier and A LOT MORE thrill...ing... It's also a million times gorier (like, obscenely gory). If you enjoy the "Saw" movies (you sick people... how do you enjoy that?) then you're sure to love this... Especially since this actually has a GOOD story that has a POINT and ISN'T mindless and POINTLESS slaughter... and Lee Byung-hun plays the main character *fangasms... no homo*!! Seriously, the only reason why this isn't my favorite movie is because the gore is so incredibly disgusting (coming from me, saying something is disgusting MEANS it's disgusting... I have a VERY strong stomach for such) and it involves a mega-depressing story.
4. "The Sasquatch Gang"
Hehe, oh yea. One of the lamest comedy movies ever... It's directed by Jared Hess, who directed "Napoleon Dynamite." Or... was it Jeremy Coon who did "Sasquatch Gang?" Either way, both of those guys made "Napoleon Dynamite," so whoever directed "Sasquatch Gang," the same mind went into making it... Does that even make sense? Still, this movie is so crappily made (as was "Napoleon D") and has the driest and dumbest humor (as did "Napoleon D"), so if you dig that kind of crap (like me...) then watch this. It's so freaking funny (if you think dumb is funny).
I would like to recommend Where Eagles Dare. It's a very good movie, and I think everyone should watch it.
Monthy Python and the Holy Grail.
Sweeny Todd The Demon Barber of Fleet Street.
Esther (Orphan in English iirc),
But a warning to the sensitive/easy to scare people since it's a horror movie
I don't want you to make me responsible for your future nightmares and bed-wetting
Don' worry, it won't hurt... that much!
The Good Shepherd
Any war movie, old guns old soldiers ... etc XD
Dudes with John Cryer. Daniel Roebuck has a blonde Mohawk in the film and Flea from The Red Hot Chili Peppers is in it for the first twenty minutes or so. It's a trip.
ummmm ... ok
EDIT:
how about a movie about how life will be if all humans became animals !!!
