Life is Beautiful, an Italian film which revolves around the halocaust uses an excellent mix of humor and tragedy. I would recommend it to all of you.

Run Lola Run, a German film split into three sections. Each section is the same scenario (Girl has to collect 30,000 Euro's to save her boyfriend from a drug lord). However, in each scenario something slightly different happens. The point is to show you how the smallest actions have the greatest of impacts. The ripple effect, basically. (German title, Lola Rennt)

Both of them are excellent films. Life is Beautiful is a bit more well known then Run Lola Run, but both severely underrated.

How about Phantasm II. Especially when Reggie Banister makes that badass twin side-by-side shotgun (SPREADGUN!!!!!) Also another kickass scene is when some guy gets shot with it

I'm in love with japanese horrors so I advice something like Ju-On (The Grudge) or One Missed Call 2. These have impressed me most, espesially Ju-On. Original version of course But most people prefer american one and I can understand why

"Patton" & "Thin Red Line" are personal favorites of mine. If we are talking Kursawa, give me "Ran."

Really not a fan of "Private Ryan"; sure it had awesome affects and realism, but the film as a whole??

I'm gonna go with Phone Booth. The first time I saw it, I was a bit disturbed by some maniac with a gun trapping you in a phone booth. But the second time I watched it, I put myself in the maniac's shoes. All of a sudden, the movie got funny. Especially when you take the time to listen to all the times the guy in the booth tries to sucker the maniac into letting him go - but the maniac is an intellectual and has all the bases covered. He's too smart for the guy. With the exception of killing some innocent pizza guy in the movie, I grew to actually respect the maniac's position. He was making a bad person pay.

Phone Booth is a great film. Love how it takes place in a phone booth while still be intresting. Gives me hope that they can make a silent protagonist movie.

Just saw Following by Chris Nolan. Black and White drama. The direction is good even though it could have been linear, he opted for you to figure out the following events. Great story though. I got to hand it to him, he is my favorite director of the modern era. Especially after I saw the chick flick Sucker Punch, Zack Snyder dropped to 3rd.

I'll suggest one for now: 5cm per Second. It's an anime film, and I advise you to watch the subbed version. Really good and touching.

Obviously, Ema Skye is hawt. And kickass.
