Project Zero is kind of a pain to play btw on PCSX2. There's some annoying issues with the camera where you have to aim a bit to the lower left instead of directly at a ghost. (This is particularly an issue with the random ghosts that only appear for a very limited time). So keep that in mind when playing the game. Logarithmic Z supposedly fixes this, but I haven't been able to try it out yet.

Oh yeah I didn't bother checking compatibility for any of the titles I mentioned I use real hardware, and also a different platform if available.
Spoiler warning:
*PSA* Wii Redump collector's can now unscrub ISO files. So scrubbed games can now be verified. You can find the program to do this here
Thank you all for your suggestions they've been very helpful. Also my apologies to the moderators of the forum because i was not careful enough to see this thread creating and posting a similar yesterday

Haha, yeah no problem.
I actually went ahead to try it out today.. Seems the camera issue is still around. Sadly Logarithmic Z didn't seem to solve the issue in HW mode.
Playing it in Software Mode completely fixes the issue though.. at the cost of reduced Graphic quality.

Original Xbox Hidden gems (your faves)
Let's discuss hidden gems on the original Xbox. Here are a few of my faves.
-Shenmue 2 (A great follow up to the Dreamcast cult classic.)
-Gauntlet Dark Legacy (I know it's a multiplat but it is one of my all time fav gems of that generation.)
-Call Of Cthulu (I have yet to play this but its on my must obtain list. And it's by Bethesda)
-Psychonauts (A Tim Schaffer classic. Im glad I discovered this game back in the day.)
-Raze's Hell (A very flawed game but has a minor cult following. I liked it)
If you want to talk about these games or add more to the list feel free to do so.

New to PC gaming. Any game recommendations?
I have decided to get a high end gaming rig. Since I have been a console gamer all my life I was wondering what are some amazing games on Steam? And yes I am already aware of TF2 and i'm getting that downloaded without question. I just would like to know about some more games that are a little more obscure but loads of fun. By the way I'm new to emuparadise,

Hello TheRevenant! I'm new here also. Joined a while back but not done much posting. If you want PC game recommendations, I can help you out!
It's almost a cliché to suggest this one but it's a must-play - Half-Life. Rather than playing the original or even Half-Life Source, I'd recommend Black Mesa - a fan-made mod which recreates the original game. I'm not sure which version of Half-Life 2 is needed to play it, but I assume any will do since all the versions on Steam should now be using the latest version of the Source engine. If in doubt, Google it. But yeah, Half-Life and Half-Life 2 along with it's two Episodes are a must-play on PC.
One of my all-time favourite PC games is System Shock 2, which is on Steam right now as part of the Hallowe'en sale but if you want it, be quick as the sale ends today. Basically the premise is that Earth builds its first faster-than-light spaceship, specifically the TriOptimum Corporation builds it. For it's maiden voyage, a military escort ship is assigned to piggyback on the main ship. You are a member of the military escort and for some reason you wake up on board the main ship with no memory of recent events. As you explore you find the ship almost deserted except for crazy people who attack you while begging you to kill them. The environments of the ship are very well realised and while the graphics are dated now the gameplay stands up well and it's very tense. With RPG mechanics, you earn points to upgrade your stats in Weapons (your ability to use a variety of weapons along with the damage they deal), Tech (your ability to hack systems, modify weapons, repair and maintain them and conduct research to gain an advantage over your enemies), Psi (basically magic - powers such as telekinesis, invisibility, throwing fireballs, sensing items and enemies nearby etc) and main stats such as Strength and Agility. It plays like an FPS but you have to think and play carefully as ammo is scarce and you're not a walking tank.
Similar to System Shock 2 is Deus Ex. If you're a console gamer you may have played Deus Ex: Human Revolution which was multi-platform. The original was firstly a PC game but got ported to at least the PS2 I believe. Again, an RPG/FPS hybrid, you earn experience points which you use to upgrade various skills, primary mission objectives earn you cash which can be spent at various NPC's to buy items, and there are ways to find more cash throughout the levels, such as hacking ATM machines. You can go in guns blazing, using explosives and assault rifles or sneak around with a silenced pistol or sniper rifle, and even hack security systems to disable cameras or reconfigure turrets to attack your enemies. The storyline is pretty good, dealing with the Illuminati and conspiracy theories, and the environments are broad with multiple ways to approach situations.
So, I want to play some GB/GBC games (I was thinking of emulating on my Android phone).
The question is: which games do you like the most, which are the best and your personal favourites?
Which Japanese Super Nintendo game should I play, which most likely have missed but that is really good ??

THE BEST METHOD to run PSX games (and everything else for that matter) is via Retroarch - http://buildbot.libretro.com/nightly/
If you have any questions on how to set it up on Windows please feel free to ask, its very easy.
My dad goes out and finds a $15 original Xbox with 2 controllers and apparently a game (dunno what). My thoughts? Conflicted. I dunno if I should be happy or not I'm just confused.
Anyways I need to get the most out of this thing since it's here so why not?
So EP members what's worth my time on this monster of a console?
Layin down enjoying the fun unleashing the power of the sun and capturing them all until I'm done.
The first Fable was pretty good and should keep you going for a bit.
Dino Crisis 3 is pretty crap tbh, but it's an exclusive iirc.
Metal Wolf Chaos.
Plenty of titles that are available on PS2 look and perform heaps better on Xbox...Black is a perfect example but if that isn't your thing then maybe check out the Project Zero games and stuff like that.
And there's emulators, you can load up quite a range of stuff on the old Xbox especially if you throw in a larger HDD.
Edit: If you prefer using consoles instead of PC then there are titles you can play on the Xbox like Morrowind for example (there are even some mods that have been ported over).
