    Default What happened?

A couple weeks ago I stopped being able to access the forums. I had no idea why. Today I went to the normal emuparadise website instead, and clicked on the message board link, and it turns out that the forums are at a different URL from my bookmark now.
    Ok.
But even stranger is that though I recognize stuff posted here, and the posts and threads go back months and months, my username, my posts, and my threads were all gone, as were a number of other random things (like a couple subforums ).
    What happened to the EPForums?
As I was walking down the stair,
    I met a man who wasn't there.
    He wasn't there again today.
    I wish, I wish he'd go away.

Yeah, EPForums works better for me than the emuparadise.forums.org thingy...check on We Back Online thread in Free For All, there's also a thread where you can get your post count (not the posts themselves, unfortunately...) and your Rep.

    In a nutshell:

    Server went down.

    HDD with recent backup failed.

MasJ found a backup, albeit from early Jan last year, it's better than nothing.

It had nothing to do with you using a diffrent URL. http://forums.emuparadise.org/ still works fine.

I know how you feel. The first time this happened I lost my account and all my posts. Even though I could get the post count back, it still felt like loosing that RPG save with hundreds of hours.

    In a Nutshell:

MasJ is so black, he forgot to pay the server bill, and the HDD got repo'ed.

I went mad when I first saw that everything had been nulled, but then, I though that this was no different from lost savegames on my PS2 - which happens all the time (wait, I hope it does not happen now that I got my 3rd ps2 ).

While I would love to be black, the point is I didn't forget to pay the server bill, they forgot to bill me for it . It's like they didn't want the cash and then they penalized us for it..

That's the url that I'm on now. I used to use the epforums.org one (can't remember it exactly ).
Well, I'm glad to find out what happened around here. Thanks, everybody.

Really though, if you're ever in doubt, checking the main site does wonders. I mean, the top announcement over the last week or so was about the fate of EP forums, so checking there certainly would've brought you up to speed.

My bookmark to the main site is straight to the roms section. Whoops.
