Default N64 Emuator Help - Diddy Kong Racing error

Hi im a little new to the emulation thing but im kinda getting the hang of it. i downloaded a n64 emulator pack and ive been trying to play diddy kong racing on it and everytime i try to play it gives me an error like "rom" not supported. or it will say something like the microcode is wrong or something. i tried DLing different roms and the same thing always happens. anyone know what the problem with this is???

Which N64 emulator are you using?
    And which plugins?

Well I was wondering if it was a .rar or not, but I guess that is not the problem.

You said you downloaded a "n64 emulator pack"

Maybe you should try getting Project64 and support files from the official site?
    http://www.pj64.net/main/download/func,select/id,2/

Also check out this site for N64 emulator downloads, like plugins:

And here's where you can find info and ask for help:

To me it sounds like either a bad rom - unlikely as he's downloaded several versions, or like SegNin has hinted at the version of the emulator he has is potentially corrupt. In particular it seems the .rdb file.
