street fighter 1 on mame

ok i dled a zip containing alot of binaries for sf1 and i have mame 32 for windows...i really dunno that much about mame but when i start it up street fighter isnt on the list of games i can choose so id like to kno how to get this game running...the zip file include more than just the binaries but theres too many files for me list them all...any help would b greatly appreciated

Dont unzip it. Put the ZIP file in the main rom folder.

i have it in the same folders as all the other games that show up but no luck...i tried dragging the zip file on top of mame32 and it din work, neither did dragging the entire folder...is this mayb the wrong arcade emulator for the game i want to play?

Try refreshing it? There should be a button with available games. I use the Mame32 Plus! frontend when I use the PC version.

okay i got mame plus and it recognizes the game but im not sure how to use it
do i have to use the files from my working mame to get it to work? i'm sorry i kno u said its just a frontend but im completely lost when it come to mame.

I think so, its been a long time since i used it though lol. You should be able to either launch the file, or you may have to play with the options.

now, do you have to go strictly by the compatability lists they give you with kawaks and mame 32? neither of them have the game listed...and i can't figure out how to open roms with either...o bother.....lol

Did somebody say "Street Fighter"? Well, anyway I dunno what version of Mame you're using and I dunno what type of Mame you're using (there's lots of different ones) so just download Mame32 v0.102 GUI version from here.

Personally I think it's the best one out there. Then refer to the Mame32 help files in it's Help menu for info on configurations. It is pretty simple once you understand how everything works. BTW, I included a proper rom set in the roms folder for the US and World versions of Street Fighter. And if you need any other stuff like bios files or other emulators I got quite a few on my site plus links to other stuff as well. Just check my sig below.

On a side note, Street Fighter won't work in Kawaks cuz it's not a CPS1 or CPS2 game, meaning it's not a chipset based on the Capcom Play System (CPS), which SF2 and just about everything else since then has been.
