Yeah, I'm so glad Nintendo is still willing to try new things out even though it has been their downfall ever since the N64. Well, actually since the Super NES if you really want to split hairs, but they outlasted Sega in the end so i'll vote the SNES for the win in that skirmish.

Anyway, I am seriously underwhelmed by the 360. Sure it's pretty...extremely insanely pretty (PGR3, case in point), and it's unfair to judge a system based on launch titles, but I think that the developers should bust ass during this time until the rest of the next gen systems launch to really get a leg up in terms of new gameplay ideas, control, AI...you know, all the things they hyped so much before the 360's launch?

The biggest gripe I have with Sony and Microsoft? the controllers themselves. the 360 controller is exactly the same as a Controller S, just slightly silmmed down and prettied up. And though I'm not sure what the final PS3 controller will look like, the picture of the silver banana/boomerang/whatever is pretty uninspiring. At least Nintendo is taking a chance to try to change the way we control our games, and you have to give them credit for being so brave.

BS. As soon as I saw this bizzarre controller, I looked at a Nintendo game show that contained this exact video. The controller, by the way, looks very promising.

Only Nintendo fans obviously by the few member turnout in this thread. I on the other hand know exactly what vid it is and I have seen it back in May/June. Being a huge fan of Zelda games and also of wanting to play with swords for real, think its a great way for me to train up my skills for when Zelda: Twilight Princess (fully compatible with the coontroller as well as the GC one) or a proper Revo Zelda game is released.

I agree that they get credit for bringing something totally new to the table. i would just like an option to have a normal controller if the vibrator one doesnt agree with me . The 360 controller is more like the PS2 controller, they added two shoulder buttons and a power button on the controller. I do like the vibrator more than the bat-o-rang though. I'm hoping that i can use my PS2 controller for the PS3, or at least get a madcatz controller that has the PS2 layout.

the revolution is gonna actually be a really great system, people think it's gonna suck because of the controller which is stupid because they are goin to have attachments for gamecube controllers so peoples won't bitch plus.... they will have free online capabillities and you wil be able to download nes, snes, and n64 (not sure about game cube?) games so far that i know of.

im excited for the revolution and the ps3, the xbox360 let me down because it doesn't even have backwards compatibillity you actually have to download a individual patch for each game you want to play but yeah im really sure the revolution will be way better than people think

Glad to hear they have an adapter for the cube controller, although i didnt like it much. Free online is good to, although i admit i dont give a shit about downloading nes, snes, or N64 games. I still have all my game systems, and im not too lazy to hook them up if i want to play them. And give the 360 a chance man . backwards compatability is lame. If you own games for the Xbox, then you should still have the system. Thats off topic though.
