Best RPG Game for PSX

I liked it too (and all LoK games). It had a good story line, was entertaining, innovative (at the time) and just fun to play. So was LoZ. I'm just saying that it's not an RPG, it's an action game (or an adventure game would also apply). VS is also a little on the line, but it has enough RPGness about it to qualify IMO. Same with PE

If we are going non native as well, then we definately need to add the Shin Megami Tensei series. Without it we wouldn't have had classics like Persona or the Digital Devil Sagas.

Out of the list you provided in the poll I'd gp with Final Fantasy IX.

It was the only one I couldn't get working in my epsxe emulator. I really wanted to re-live one of my favorite games. Finaly after about 6 months, I realized I needed to patch the ISO. Very shamful, but I'm computer/technology ignorrant.
During those six months, Final Fantasy IX became a sort of holy grail, something that I really wanted but could never have. It still is my pride and joy, analvise.

bah it's missing Chrono and Suikoden choices.. so I went with Xenogears only to find out that FFVII is winning. I mean 7 was good but the best? no.. II&III were better!
