Search the Everything Emulation forum for info on how to set up an emulator to run FF VIII. If you find nothing helpful, then make a thread there keeping this in mind:

EDIT: Oh right, the question. Well, for me, I couldn't get FF8 to work in ISO format, so I ripped it (from the original disc) in .bin format. since you don't have the original disc, and only an ISO, you need to convert it. Get ISOBuster, load the image, then rip it in .bin format. This creates a seperate file in .bin format. This is the only way I've found that allows FF8 to work.

No, you don't have to convert it if you don't want to but keep in mind that sometimes when you try to convert an image file you will lose some quality. But hey, like I said "it's up to you"
