552.27 minus 399 is $153.27. Now while this is already a substansial loss per console, imagine the cost if they have to replace a console: $1104.54. This means that for every console that is sold and not replaced, M$ loses $153.27, and every console that they do have to replace is $705.54. And don't get me started on them having to replace replacement consoles, which not only cost big bucks but also bring in the hate mail.
While I like M$, and I am glad they are sacrificing cash to lower the price (even if the games are 60 bucks a pop!), I REALLY hope my 360 doesn't kick the bucket when I get it (which, although I preordered in August, won't come until after christmas)
