Will 800 MB CD-R's work on a ps1 ? My sister bought me a few minutes ago 2 800 MB Packs by Philips. I never used such CD-R's with 800MB. And ? Yes or No ?

i dint even know they exist...
Me either, news to me.
Only one way to find out.
Try burning a game on one, and see if it works.
I bought some recently for some DC ISOs that were 900+ MB. I can't burn them with either of my burners
I asked froogle about this, seem they do exist but i've never seen them.
One of the pages had a small compatibility chart, so I would assume that it won't work on the PS1.
Anyway, wouldn't all ps1 games be restricted to 700MB anyway?

Exactly what I was thinking.Originally Posted by dollarcoin
Unless the 800mb is the only thing available (I doubt it would work anyways), you should just go and buy the 700mb ones.
[Woooooo!]
yes...Tomorrow I will burn a game and test it with a psx. I will post then the answer.Originally Posted by Judau Ashta

On the seventh dawn of the seventh day a twice-blessed man will roam the fields. Doomed to shadows with his brethren, or saviour to all who walk the ground.
You can cram quite a but of data on one, so there are 900MB discs even. The thing is, not many drives read it, even less burn it properly, that's why I don't really think it'll work on a PSX. Well, it could, but that'd be real lucky.Originally Posted by Psycho Fox

Hey people ! Good news. They are working. Yes, 800mb CD-R's by Philips are working on a ps1. I used for burning them CDRWIN 3.9 k. I checked now 2 games and there isn't any skipping or something
