    Default Converting to .bin

Is there a way to convert .iso and .img files to .bin format. If so, how? Sorry if this has been asked a lot.

EDIT: Oh and another question. How can you check if your game is NTSC or PAL, or can you do that at all?

Yes, but why do you want to do that?
It's not really necessary, but since you asked:

    Method #1
Use either Daemon Tools or Alcohol 120% to mount the iso or img and rip a new bin from the mounted ISO. I don't have Alcohol 120%, so I'll show you how to do it with Daemon Tools.

Download Daemon Tools from here (it's free): http://www.daemon-tools.cc/dtcc/port...tegory&catid=5

First, install and configure Daemon Tools to create a virtual drive on your computer. After doing that you should see a small icon in your system tray that looks like a lightning bolt. Right-click on that lightning bolt, choose "Options", and make sure there's a check mark next to "Analog Audio". <--- very important

Now this time left-click the lightning bolt icon, and click where it says "Device #: [ *: ] No Media", then choose either the .ccd, .mds, or .cue file by double-clicking it.
    #: will be a number like 0:
    [ *: ] will be a letter like [ H: ]

Now Double-click My Computer, and you should see your new virtual drive. It's letter will be the same as the letter for[*]. If you want, you can double-click the virtual drive to open it, and see all the files in the ISO. But that's not necessary.

Now rip a new bin CD Image using the app of your choice (CDRWin, Alcohol120%, etc.)

    Method #2
    Download ISOBuster (free too)
    http://www.isobuster.com/

Use ISOBuster open the ccd or iso and left click on CD (has a CD Icon there aswell) and select Extract CD then click on RAW (*.bin, *.iso) after it has done you get to create a cue sheet

I would also edit the cue just to remove the path it puts in it
    e.g. change "C:\nameofimage.bin" to "nameofimage.bin"

You can convert .iso and .img files to .bin very easily: just rename them

To check if the game is NTSC or PAL, you can insert the CD-ROM (or mount to virtual drive) and check the code (for example SLUS something). Check the third letter of the code: E means European version = PAL, U = US version = NTSC, P = Japanese version = usually NTSC.

Another way is to load up the game in emulator and toggle on automatic FPS limit and look if the FPS rate is 50 or 60 (50 for PAL, 60 for NTSC)

well renameing does't work always. A couple of times the renamed files were unable to burn, after mounting and re-imaging the files worked perfectly. Thats the better way to get other files.

hmmm my tradelist is down and my uploads too, so forget about my sig...

Ok, it just has always worked for me when I have tried renaming the files. But I still wonder why would you want to do the conversion...

Oh thank you very much for your replies. I am a perfectionist freak so I want all of my games to be same file type and same region.

    God I love you guys.

Not that I wouldn't believe you, but is this true? Seem quite easy. Very good if it is.

Actually that is the real way to test it. If the game looked like NTSC version by the code, it could still be patched to another format, so using emulator and looking at the FPS counter will tell you the real system used.
