Default FF7 crash after click New Game

    **HARDWARE**
    CPU: Pentium 4 3.0
Video Card: NVidia GeForce 4 MX 440
    RAM: 512 MBs
    OS: Windows XP

    **Emulator**
    Emulator: ePSX 1.6.0
Video Plugin: Pete's OpenGL Driver 1.76
Sound Plugin: ePSXe SPU core 1.5.2.
CDrom Plugin: Mooby2 cd disk image driver 2.8
also tried Cdrom Plugin: ePSXe CDR WNT/W2K core 1.5.2.

Haven't tried any others yet. Game crashes when I try to start a new game.

When I switched to Mooby it gave me an error stating "Seek past end of disk" "On line: 334". Tried changing the settings to the cdrom plugin a bit but don't really know what I'm doing there. Any ideas?

I'm not sure if it will help but ePSXe 1.5.2 is known to play squaresoft games better than 1.6.0 does. Try that.

Ok, I'll give that a shot and see how it goes.

Still getting the same thing. Thinking that maybe when I downloade the first part of the rar it got copied to my drive wrong or something like that (happened to me last time I downloaded a rar split into parts for some reason). Takes a while to get a copy though so I guess I'm going to bed while it downloads.

Well the CD-ROM plugin shouldn't matter if you're trying to play an ISO. This won't help if you can't even start a new game but I suggest changing your sound plug-in to Eternal SPU Plugin 1.41 as its better than your current plugin. To get past the start new game screen I recommend messing around with the configuration of your video plugin. I think there is a special game fix for that game but it only fixes a glitch during battles I think. For 1.5.2 try activating odd even bit hack that might help. other than that I don't know maybe it's a bad ISO.

Well, I downloaded the first part of the rar over again and I got passed the new game click (though it got choppy for a split second). Going to try the sound plugin that was suggested and hopefully the battles don't glitch.
