import player, sounds like something i had a while ago for my psx. i think i was supposed to use it for swap discs. never worked though and i found an easier way of playing backups other than swapping discs.
I don't think it's the same as what your thinking about. My systems allready have chips in them, Import Player just allows my PAL games(I've downloaded)to be played on my NTSC TV.

Yes I have encountered many people with the same problem. Pal games playing really weird on their (NTSC) TVs. Previously, I thought modchips make em work properly and kinda convert the signal or something from PAL to NTSC and vice versa until recently I came to know that it worked for me only coz I have a multiregion TVOriginally Posted by DementedLullaby
Well, you can look at this thread, which I created seeking help for a friend of mine who has the same problem like yours.
http://forums.emuparadise.org/showthread.php?t=32497
Some people in that thread even recommended patches to convert but I don't know the whether they work properly or not.
In the end (my 2 cents ), I came to the conclusion that its always better to play em on a Multiregion TV rather than messing with your ISOs or the console.

New modchips will convert them and allow you to adjust the settings
I made a thread with a fix for this, btw i made that thread because i remembered ravihpa asking for that help and i found this patch to play pal games in ntsc tvs,let me look for that thread and ill post it here

Youre using hd? or swap magic? some games may require that in the hdloader screen you press i think select then choose some kind of special option in the menu that apears by pressing that button

Transfer copied games to the HDD? How would I go about that. I don't have the slide card ><. When I use HDAdvance to back up copies it says it's not a valid PS2 game. I hear the slide card can be used but I'm not going to bother ordering one since I have other methods of playing copies.
So I guess if it's easy enough no harm in knowing lol thanks.

i guess i already mentioned how but here goes again in a more detailed way, you have 2 ps2 right? one moded and one with hdadvance, to get the mc exploit to your mc well need the softmoded ps2 to install the exploit with a bootable cd that youre going to make, follow this guide to make the cd:
-- PART 1 - Making a custom TITLE.DB for your specific PS1 game
I have included a TITLE.DB with 800 game SLUS #'s...use it at your own discretion....it's my understanding it includes PAL games too. The best method is to create your own to ensure it is going to work properly with the PS1 game you own. In fact don't ask me about it create your own.
Skips these steps if you are going to use the included 800 title.db file...but it's recommended to make your own.
To make a custom TITLE.DB do this...
1. Grab your original PS1 game and read the front....look for the id number that looks like SLUS-11111. It will look like that on the front of the cd but we need to make it look like SLUS_111.11. So don't get confused...heres another example -- on the front of my game it says SCUS-94163 so I would enter SCUS_941.63 into TITLE.DB Maker v0.5 by Dark_Killer.
2. Open TITLE.DB Maker v0.5 by Dark_Killer
3. Enter your game title's SLUS # (or SCES, SCUS...whatever....just get it right for your specific PS1 game) or use "Extract SYSTEM.CNF" and browse to the PS1 CD in the PC drive and choose SYSTEM.CNF the easy way. Add more than one for multiple PS1 games to work.
4. Be sure you know where the created TITLE.DB is and copy it to the FILES directory that is included in the .rar overwrit.
******* All Done making the TITLE.DB file *******
**Before you do PART 2, do this, look in the FILES directory and look for KL.DAT. If you are a PAL user delete it and rename KLforPAL.DAT to KL.DAT and use that. If you are an NTSC user, leave it be.**
-- PART 2 - Creating an ISO image of our Exploit Installer CD
1. Open CDGenPS2.exe
2. Add the files in Exploit_Files.rar in this order...drag and drop
1. Add SYSTEM.CNF (this file is the first to boot and links to EXPINST.ELF)
2. EXPINST.ELF (the main executable file, loads EVERYTHING in the FILES directory to BATA-SYSTEM depending on your consoles region)
3. CDVD.IRX (CD/DVD Driver)
4. TITLE.DB (contains the PS1 game SLUS #'s that are checked for on boot)
5. The whole FILES directory
6. DUMMY.000 (this file just adds size to the image you make which is required)
7. Click on IMG to make an image and save it somewhere
8. Burn the image as usual with any program (NERO or whatever)
9. Done!
******* All Done making the Exploit Installer CD *******
NOTICE!! - This disk will freeze at loading cdvd.irx if you think copying this to the hd and running this from hdloader will work... use alternate instructions below.
Now take this cd to the PS2 that will play a burned disk however it can (like I explained if you read up top) and be sure to only have your own MC in the PS2 and pop the cd in for it to boot like a normal PS2 Backup on any modded system. It won't hurt your friends MC if you forget but will install the Exploit for your friend and will only boot the Exploit for him if he has your PS1 game.
If you don't see it running and successfully complete, something went wrong....I will update this by hearing peoples questions in the forums.
Now take your MC and CD home and try it out.....Put in the PS1 game and turn the system on and it should flicker white and then boot to KeyLauncher. Nice eh? You are now done installing the PS2 Independance Exploit. Now after the third method to Install the PS2 Independance Exploit I will explain how to use the programs KeyLauncher, PS2Menu-k w/ UMCDR support, LaunchELF, ExecFTPs and CogSwapLoader so just skip the next two methods to setup the Exploit. Post feedback in forum if you have a problem.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
got the faq from ps2hd.com the exploit files are <a href="http://www.ps2hd.com/forums/downloads.php?do=file&id=110&act=down">here</a>
once you get all this done download hdl-dump and make isos of the games you want to transfer to your hd on you pc, then configure hdl-dump and conect to your ps2 via ftp through the ftp elf inside the exploit first start the ftp elf in your ps2 and with all the settings that appear in the screen while the ftp is launched youll use them in hdl-dump in you pc then conect to your ps2 with a crossover or another way of your choice directly from your pc to your console, once youre conected just transfer the isos to your hd,note that some games may require special settings to work.
