getting a picture to appear in your post

i'm a newb when it comes to putting a picture in you post can anybody tell me how

Image tags are your friends. For instance, the following code:
[img|]http://upl.silentwhisper.net/uplfolders/upload6/ChristmasCharm.gif[/img|]
creates this, just by removing the bar inside the tags:


Just surround the address for the image you want to link with the two [img] tags, and it should work fine. As long as the address is fine, of course.

www.photobucket.com is a good image hosting site, just upload a pic off of your compy and you get a url.

In case you don't understand: To put an image on the internet you have to host it on the internet. Websites like www.photobucket.com or www.imageshack.us (more convenient imo) will host your image on their servers and give a link to where you image is on the internet, which you can put in your posts. To make the link actually appear in your posts, you need to use the code for the forum your using. For this forum, the code for an image is [IMG] www.yourlinkhere.ect [/IMG]. In your post the link will appear as an image instead of a link.

So to put a pic in your post, go to imageshack, host your file, copy the link they give you into your post (or signature too) and surround it with [IMG] on the left side and [/IMG] on the right.
