    Question Problems with ePSXe

I am having troubles playing megaman legends 2 using ePSXe. I open the .img file and the capcom logo displays onto the screen. The screen then goes black, I wait a few minutes, thinking it could possible be lag. I gave up on it and played around with some of the plugins to see if I could fix the problem. I set it to view the FPS during full-screen mode. I soon noticed that when the screen went black the FPS stopped. Which obviously means it froze. If possible, does anybody know how I can prevent this from happening? Thanks in advance.

There may be a special game fix you could try lookign for in the video plugin config. Also try looking on the help file for any mention of Megaman there as that would have a detailed explaination of what to do for that game.

I have tried that already, nothing there for legends 2. :\ So this means it could possibly be the wrong plugins? I will get some now and fiddle around with them for awhile lol. Thankyou for the help so far...I just might get this working

If your using ePSXe 1.6.0 try 1.5.2,... Some games work better on the old version... and It *might* help.

Well, I have read something about that there was a version of Megaman Legends 2 up on the bittorrent tracker that didn't work with ePSXe... Mine does, anyway. Use the PEOPS software plugin and the Eternal SPU plugin, those work almost all the time, and I used those testing this game.

I definitely agree with Gundam guy (becuase it worked for me when i had the EXACT same problem with Chrono Cross) Switch to 1.5.2 if you are currently using 1.6.0, or visa versa. Like i said what happened to you happened to me a few days ago: I loaded the CC .mdf file the squaresoft logo and intro would start then freeze...

Chrono Cross works just fine in ePSXe 1.6.0, it's just that very few people bother to turn on that single extra option. And Chrono Cross is known to freeze without changing the settings under 1.6.0, Megaman Legends 2 is not.

Hmm, I've tested my version of Mega Man Legends 2 on ePSXe 1.6.0 with the following plugins:
    Pete's OpenGL2 Driver 2.6
    P.E.Op.S. DSound Audio Driver 1.9
    SaPu's CD-ROM Plugin 1.0
Nothing unusual happens. I think pkt-zer0 is right about the copy being wrong, cause I don't think it's your settings (unless u've not revealed something. ).

Sora_Oblivion, this worked for me with MegaMan X3 and MegaMan Battle and Chase, but I don't know if it will work for you.

Download Daemon Tools from here (it's free): http://www.daemon-tools.cc/dtcc/port...tegory&catid=5

First, install and configure Daemon Tools to create a virtual drive on your computer. After doing that you should see a small icon in your system tray that looks like a lightning bolt. Right-click on that lightning bolt, choose "Options", and make sure there's a check mark next to "Analog Audio". <--- very important

Now this time left-click the lightning bolt icon, and click where it says "Device #: [ *: ] No Media", then choose either the .ccd, .mds, or .cue file by double-clicking it.
    #: will be a number like 0:
    [ *: ] will be a letter like [ H: ]

Now Double-click My Computer, and you should see your new virtual drive. It's letter will be the same as the letter for[*]. If you want, you can double-click the virtual drive to open it, and see all the files in the ISO. But that's not necessary.

Now open ePSXe by double-clicking it, and click Config > Cdrom > Configure. Then, for the option of selecting which drive, choose your new Daemon Tools virtual drive (It's the one named Generic DVD-ROM).

Now you're ready to play the game.
For ePSXe, go to File > Run CDROM.
    And your game should start.

    -----------------------
Btw, I have a copy of MegaMan Legends 2, and mine doesn't have any problems playing in ePSXe either.

Mine doesn't have a problem, try getting some different plugins, as some don't always work.
    Something fancy goes here.
