i love led zeppelin, but they are highly over rated, IMO. i also regularly visit the boards of Guitar World, a magazine im subscribed to. so many people there ask for more led zeppelin tablature in the magazine when there is already at least one led song every 3 issues. a lot of people need to realize that there are many good bands out there that have not gotten much attention, but they still make great music.

Led Zeppelin may not be the greatest band, but by me, they're up there, along side The Beatles, Pink Floyd, Alice in Chains, Nirvana, and Sublime...

(NOTE: Metallica used to be up there as well, up until their new stuff started coming out which really tarnished their name to me. I still appreciate all their older songs though)

It's a band that still gets a little too much attention, but with good reason, shows how influential and revolutionary they were. Personally I'm not a fan but I enjoy the music a lot. A friend plays a ton of their songs and I improvise on it... fun shit.

Not really, but Led Zeppelin is pretty good. I listened to a few of their music, and it's something I'd listen too. Not my favorite band, though.

Queen is my favorite band, but there not the "Greatest" Meaning they didnt have the most influence over music. That spot does belong to Led Zeppelin.

Black Sabbath also had a profound impact on music, as they redefined what "Metal" was.

The Beatles were impotant as well, they took "Rock & Roll" of the 50s and turned it into what was considered "Rock" for the 60s 70s and 80s.

Finally, I HATE NIRVANA! They took the fun/excess/glam out of rock, and turned into nothing but self-pity with all that "Grunge" bullshit.

Led Zeppelin were fucking brilliant, and every single person in that band was a complete and utter legend. I'd probably have to say that Dazed & Confused is my favourite LZ song, although the live version of Immigrant Song from How The West Was Won comes very close.

epwchilll: Roger Taylor went to my old school when he was a kid, and owns a house that's about an hour away from where I live. I love Queen too so it's pretty awesome.

i think nirvanna so-so. the thing that pisses me off was why kurt kobian commited susicide (he sung agenst the rich and liberal, but then he became one....) some GOOD grunge rock would be soundgarden and pearl jam. i dont think the pixies would count as grunge but there still cool (see sig)
