'Raw' Death metal (Cannibal Corpse, Nile etc.) Sounds sloppy the first few listens, but you get to realise that they're playing some fucking technical shit.

Cannibal Corpse is one of my favourite bands, but I prefer Melodeath and (good) power metal. Shit like Children of Bodom, Demons and Wizards, Blind Guardian. They kick ass. I'm also a fan of experimental and phsyc shit. Like dredg and Fantomas.

    New Sonata Arctica Video

Check it out. It fucking pwns. Unia is just amazing, my favourite album so far, despite how weird it sounded on the first listen or two.

New albums got a bit of prog to it, so if you're a fan of SA you may be a bit uncomfortable with it as thousands of people were on SA's forums and on LastFM XD.

Dimmu Borgir - The Serpentine Offering weird video, but In Sorte Diaboli pretty much pwns.

fantomas are pretty far out, but pretty entertaining.

Demons and Wizards are good but i cant only take so much of their music because it all starts to sound the same(not as much as Iced earth however). But CoB -- ive been addicted to them for 2 months straight. before that i listened to them but never got hooked on them.

and with the cannibal corpse situation, i know what you mean. I used to HATE cannibal corpse, but i heard it a lot at my friends house and eventually i realized how good they actually are.

New Megadeth has apparently leaked, getting it now, going real fucking slow though...

EDIT: Pretty damn solid album, best since Countdown for sure, stylistically it's sort of between Countdown and Youthanasia

Highlights: Washington Is Next, United Abombinations, Play For Blood, You're Dead

Listened to the first few songs, and so far so good (no pun intended ). The riffs slay, they remind of the old Megadeth days when Megadeth knew how to thrash. The solos are great as well, as expected from Dave. The production and vocals suck though. Given the right treatment, this album could've been Megadeth's ultimate return to the 80's.

I didn't mind the vocals personally

Production did seem a bit lacklasture though, pretty unusual, Andy Sneap's done some good jobs the last few years

Still I'm quite impressed with the album, hopefully this line-up stays a while as opposed to Dave's revolving door of musicians.

Listening to it now. First metal album I've been compelled to check out in ages...

EDIT: Seems pretty solid overall, even though Amerikhastan is embarrassingly bad and the remake of A Tout Le Monde suck balls. The production does sound a little dated, but I have heard they were trying to make it sound like older Megadeth records? Not sure.

I love it all, bar the ending of A Tout Le Monde (Scabbia's final lyric...so unecessary, just annoyed me) and the chorus of United Abominations which just...sucked.

Yes. Good album, but then again, there's no 'Deth I dont like.
