Not a fan of their first vocalist
i used to feel the same way, but then i realize that when i listen to him he has so much more aggression in his voice as if doing it takes a great bit out of him. Other than that, the music is just heavier, more original less catchy. I want to kill myself when i hear angela sing one of the old songs.

I guess i'm just pissed that she's too silly live (pretending to fly on silverwing is not remotely metal or cool) and takes away from the dark heaviness AE had on Black Earth->Burning Bridges.

Anyone else looking forward to the new Avantasia albums?

I'm looking forward to getting my wallet gouged so I can afford tickets.

The prices are getting absurd these days (Motorhead tickets are close to $150 for general admission. You don't want to know what high-class costs).

Yeah I can see tickets being fairly pricey, what with all their extravagant stage design and what not bumping the cost up...still worth it. By the way there's no Adelaide date as of yet, just Perth, Melbourne, Sydney and Brissy. :

Yeah Motorhead tickets are pretty ridiculous, though they seem to just be based off the standard price for arena shows here these days....

If Maiden aren't coming to Adelaide I'll probably take the weekend off and make the trip to Melbourne or Perth to see them.

Preferably Perth. Victoria shits me off for some reason.

I read they were discussing where they were touring extensively, so the odds of them adding Adelaide is slim in my opinion. They're sticking to the big cities.

They set 20 dates for that part of the three-part tour, so they've gone for the biggest cities in the places they're going.
"[Adelaide is] the fifth largest city in Australia" haha, that sucks XD

Fifth largest in this case actually means "pretty damn small". Barely over a million people, including the suburbs.

How far is it to the nearest place they're playing?

I would have to travel about 300 miles, but I'm going to see them at Wacken 08, so I dont see the point.

Led Zep reunion show, anyone hopefull?

It's a solid day's drive to either of the capitals they're playing at (so a bit over 1000kms, give or take a few hundred depending on which city I head to). If the airfairs are cheap enough, I'll fly instead.

    Big fucking place, Australia.

Excuse me, but did you just say you were going to a place called "Wacken"?

PROTIP: avoid places called "Wacken" like the plague.

Yes, it's a town called Wacken. Where, every year, thousands of leather-clad men gather to get all sweaty and be squashed together.
