Default "Cannot read TOC" on Chankast

Hey guys. I have a question about Chankast. I used both versions of Daemon Tools I heard and saw them use in a tutorial. Both 3.29 and 3.46. Everytime I boot up chankast, I select start and it says cannot read Toc from F drive. That's my virtual cd rom drive. I tried using the protection options. Nothing. This is using v3.29. I treid 3.46 and it was the same error. I'm trying to play Ikaruga. And I'm pretty sure it's playable.

If I remember correctly TOC means (Table Of Content or something like that)
so I would say maybe a broken image?? Have you tried running any other games in CHankast and is the CD selfboot?? Maybe try scanning it with CDMage
    or use Alcohol's virtual CDROM.
This is tha only thing I can think about for now.

Use the other CD plugin, I think it's called CDROM Plugin xxx, or something stupid like that. Basically, NOT the ASPI one.

One more question...How do I save system settings...It's currently in Spanish....everytime I change the settings to my liking, shut the emulator down and rerun the bios, its back to default as if i just turned it on for the first time. How do I go about keeping the setting from switing back to default?

First, you need a flash bios. But if you do have the DC_BIOS and DC_FLASH binary files in the Chankast directory, make sure they're not read-only. I made that mistake.

I thought about that too. And I unchecked that, both the DC_Bios and DC_Flash and...and well...no luck.

In this thread MelloProto posted some BIOS files somewhere, I use those, and they work. Maybe you could try re-downloading them.

    To answer both your questions:

Cannot read TOC -> get rid of that image. It's bad. I had one too a few weeks ago (Wild 9 in the YSI thread)

To get Chankast stay in english.
    1) uncheck the read-only box in the file properties of DC_Bios and DC_Flash
    2) run chankast w/o a mounted CD so you go to the bios menu.
    3) go in options and select english.
    4) exit that menu and return to the main menu screen.
    5) quit/close Chankast.
    6) check the read-only box in the file properties of DC_Bios and DC_Flash

Both these files are now locked in English mode

I got everything working. Bad TOC turned out to be the EMU Plugin. Only something corrupted my Ikaruga ISO. And well...it was redownloading from the tracker here, and stopped at 49%. No one's I guess sharing. Anyone care to reseed?

I also get "Cannot read TOC" while using Chankast however all the game boot fine in a real Dreamcast so I can't be because of bad images or burns.
