I liked most of the music in FF7 and FFX, same with the intro movies on MGS2 and 3.

But most of the time though, I just have the TV on mute since I'm listening to my iPod or something while playing a game, so it's not often that I do listen to the music on the game.

y'know, I really liked the music from most every Final Fantasy, really, each of them were very well done in my opinion, but I'm not taking FFX and so on into account seeing as I've never actually gotten up to finish the games :/ but yeah, 5, 6, 7, 8, and 9 all had music that I liked, but as for just gaming music, though, I had to love the Twisted Metal 1 sound track, some very nice guitar rifts in that game XD

    Now that's just wrong...

Guilty Gear (X2), Suikoden I/II and Chrono Trigger are my favorites.

Most of the Final Fantasy orchestral music is pretty much amongst the best IMHO

Yeah, unless the game has god awful music (ff7 comes to mind) it's definately much more immersive to listen to the real music. Plus songs with singing can get real old real fast.

Ehm, am I correct in assuming you don't mean all the music from FF7? Cuz there's some excellent music in that game.

Yeah, I meant the parts like those ice caves...the music is so damn terrible. But there are moments like Cid's Theme that are quite excellent.

FFVII really does have some beautiful ambience as well as "character themes". *sniff* poor Aerith, that get's me every time. It suits the mood so well.

I love the FF9 soundtrack. Xenogears is right up there too.

The Guilty Gear series has the best music. The best song is Millia Rage's "Writhe In Pain"

Guilty Gear has some awesome music (though not the best IMO). My favorites are "Awe Of She", "Suck A Sage" and "The Midnight Carnival".
