I have a theory, all Humans like what others do, they just say they don't so naturally there brains think they dont like it and wont listen to it, but if you let yourself enjoy it, then you will like it.. Just a random thought.

As far as skill goes, Royce is easily the best on the list, but I haven't been listening to any of them THAT much recently. Immortal Tecnique is a true revolutionary in every sense of the word. I listen to Kanye because he made me like him. With the beats that he makes, how could you NOT like him if you like rap? Mos Def is probably the only emcee that I can respect that went from just rapping to singing, then to acting. Talib Kweli is what's called a conscious rapper because of his subject matter. He talks about things that really go on in Brooklyn (most of the time). If you don't really listen to rap, but you want to start listening to it, start with Mos Def. He's a mellow dude and some if not all of you have seen him in Hitchiker's Guide to the Galaxy.

I don't really like rap that much, but for example Solid Base has some portitions in their musics where there is some rap, I like those, because it is not the whole thing, just an additional flavor.

Rap . . . Never really got into it . . . the beats are good, just couldn't ever get over the person singing . . . of course, I like Instrumental only music . . . music where the musicians can show off and nobody's got to endure someone's voice ruining a perfectly good song.
Having a rhyme structure, though I can appreciate, I've worked on several poems and the like, and found that it's darn hard to keep a good rhyme scheme (including syllable counts) . . .
