You can ftp the files of the iso to your xbox, you need to put them in the games folder, make sure you have the default.xbe if not the game wont run

edit-you sure you backed up the game to your hd?,you need to run the dvd2xbox program from the apps list, when youre in the program you just need to press a button to transfer the game from the cd to your xbox

the default.xbe is a file that every xbox game has, when you transfer the files you must make sure that the file is in the folder of the game you want to play,if not it wont play, and yes you can use ftp offline, theres no need to have internet to do that, check my other tutorials to see how to do the ftp thing,at this moment i can tell you that you need a crossover cable, still confused? see my tutorial, the link to the tutorial is in the first page of this tutorial

Default.xbe is an xbox executable, the equivilent of an .exe. In order to create an xISO, i recommend using a program like Qwix or Craxion.

That file is inside the disk among the other files,do what borman said,or just browse an xbox game and copy all the files to your computer then ftp them to your xbox, thats what i did with one of my backed up games and it worked, dont know if it works with original games since i havent tried it but as far as i know there are some games that your computer wont read since they are in xbox format or something like that,in anycase it shouldnt be a problem since dvd2xbox is easy to use, dont know why you cant get it to work properly.

I burned the game as a udf/cd-rom instead of burning the image

OK well I got Doom III from sprung, and he burned it and tested it before he gave it to me but when i put it in it reads it as "Unkown" and wont play, I tried ripping it with dvd2xbox and it says nothing is in there, I put it in the computer and it says its empty too. any clues?

EDIT:> oh and my xbox is a V1.1 with a samsung drive

Try transferring it over to your xbox via FTP. Doom 3 works fine for me. It could still be the media that you burned it on, what kind of DVD-R tid you use?

See, I cant transfer it to the xbox as i didnt download it and I have no way of reripping it from the disk cause the computer doesnt read it either, sprung burned it and sent it to me, the media he used was Maxell DVD+R, he had said he tested it before he sent it and he has a Samsung drive aswell

Thats wierd. I would try cleaning off the disk and trying again, thats all you really can do.

disk is perfectly clean, I noticed my xbox wouldnt read burned dvd movies either (before modding) so i wonder if the drive just isnt just wierd about it. It will read CD-R fine though. Think maybe if I used DVD-R or DVD+RW would make any difference?

It's really odd, because we have the same drives, and mine will read a DVD+R fine, but not CD-R, I have to use CD-RW to get a small ISO to work

Ill ask my dad if i can go pickup a small pack of DVD+RWs and DVD-Rs tomorrow and see if that makes any difference
