    Default wireless controller question

I bought a used xbox and it came with a fat controller. The cord was damaged at the base of the controller, and it still worked. I didnt care, but the cord got ripped off and I was wondering if there was a way to make the controller wireless, can I use the 5 volt pin that is connected to the memory card slot, and solder a transmitter to the controller, or disconnect the rest of the wire from the bord of the controller, and use open port for the transmiter, and the 5 volt pin for a battery pack so the transmitter will turn on then can i take the break away cable cut it, strip it, and solder the receiver to it does?

First of all, if you can get all of those materials ridiculously cheap, solder that shite properly, and make it work flawlessly then by all means go ahead. But you can always pull those $15 out of your pocket and get another...

I'm very sure it's possible, but the amount of work you would have to do on the sucker would not be worth it... unless you just want something to brag about to your friends(or get laughed at for being such a geek ).

Yeah, I am hoping to do the least amount of work, without messing up my soldering like a few other projects <.<

I know for a fact it's possible since I saw someone working on it in front of me at some store. So by all means if you know what you're doing go ahead, just make sure to post a pic of the finished product.
