My XFX nVidia 6600GT isn't too bad, I suppose. Best priced card anyway.

Theres a few cards that cost over 1000 bucks, but thats because they have at least 512mb on them. But they are horrid for gaming.

3Dlabs are probably up there as one of the most expensive. Not sure of the quality, the new cards have 512mb ram and that, but they seem stupidly overpriced.

Stick with a NVidia 6600. Name brand doesn't matter so much. Asus, BFG, Gainward, MSI, whatever. Just make sure you get the appropriate bus. (AGP or PCI-Express)
    Greatly enjoyed Monster Hunter
    Happily playing Guild Wars
Sorely disappointed with Star Ocean 3

yeah the 3DLabs Wild Cat series are the high end workstation cards, and yet they still get outclassed at times by the Nvidia Quadro 4400 pcie workstation card.

Oh...What was that card DN was telling me about...

I think its in this computer now...He bought it for me...

Ah, its called "S3 Deltachrome"...anyone know what that means?

I think he said he bought a G-Force 6600 Ultra or something like that. Something stupidly powerful and over priced...

Yea thats because it is a SE they are 64bit and the ones without SE are 128bit and this makes a huge diffrence so DON'T BUY A SE

ive got a 256mb ATI REDEON 9550 and it works on all the new games e.g. sims 2, doom 3, the new prince of persia and lots more and it only cost 55 (i don't now what that is in dollars somthing like $30 or a bit less) and it over clocks to a 9600pro or 9600xt, it's one or the other.

i thought pounds were worth more than a dollar? i could be completely wrong, but i thought 55 would be something more like $70

I would venture that the best card(s) out right now are the nVidia Quadro Fx 4400 SLI. Two of those bad boys can be had for the low, low price of around $3,600 (US).

Man...so many cards to choose from...but which card would give me a high level of performance combined with a reasonable price?

By the way, I only have a 128MB GeForce 5200XT. I'm hoping to upgrade it to something better, as well as increase my memory.
