KotoR lags: I would like it not to.

Yes, topic line. I have the following specs:
1.9ghz Intel 4 Processor
NVIDIA GeForce 4 MX440 GFX card
Integrated sound

The game lags something terrible, and nothing like that has ever happened to me before, so maybe some of my fellow low-end PC users can help me out with tips to make the lagging go to hell? I don't mind if it looks a shoddier, really.

If you don't mind it looking terrible start by turning the graphics down. Also try disabling the in-game music. It works for me and doesn't lag even with a 1.3Ghz with 512 ram.

mine is a 1.8 ghz with a geforce card at 64 megs and it runs just fine! maybe your nvidia dets need updated?

Megs hardly matter on a video card unless it's higher end, and can actually utilize that extra memory.
Turn down all your settings on KotOR, and close any background applications you have open. Your card is pretty bad, so just lower everything and it should run fine. It won't be pretty, but who cares? It's a great game for its gameplay, not its graphics.

i never stated that it did matter fallen I was just saying what my card was....but anyways i still think his dets need updated because I do not have one single problem and i do not have to turn my settings down...but background apps a lot of the times can affect performance so definately check that end out. Especially virus proggy's.
