NeoGeo unplayable in WinKawaks

Hey there,

I just downloaded WinKawaks and a bunch of CPS1/CPS2 and NeoGeo roms. I can play all the CPS1/2 games fine - but I can't run the NeoGeo roms.

I got the NeoGeo.zip file with the bios info etc but none of the games appear on the 'available to play' list Can someone help?

Just to be sure you put the neogeo.zip file also in the neogeo-directory?

I had a similar problem just because I was using win2k.. Are you trying to add a game to the list that's not already embedded in WinKawaks?

Anyway, I fixed the problem by changing emulator, if you can possibly do that this time around.

Rule out all the obvious stuff first, like Rescan all or configure paths. If no NeoGeo roms show up select to show all games, click on a NeoGeo game, report back and tell us what it said

Hey well - I've made sure the neogeo.zip file is in the roms directory - infact it's in the root rom directory and the neogeo rom directory

Still no games available after re-scan but I know for example the mslug.zip rom file is there so when I show all games available or not and try to run it this is what it says:

'Couldn't find 000-lo.lo (e09e253c) for game , ERROR'

Can someone help?

And yeah.. I might just use another emulator - but i'd like to be able to use this one for everything. What's a good neogeo emulator?

I get the same error for metal slug, crossed worlds, and ghost pilot

You'll get the same error for all NeoGeo games because the file you mentioned (000-lo.lo) is a bios file. Make sure you've got a good neogeo bios file and make sure it's not unzipped. Nothing to do with your OS or the emulator, just a common but easily corrected mistake

thanks man, this is what's in my neogeo.zip BIOS file:

neo-geo.rom
ng-lo.rom
ng-sfix.rom
ng-sm1.rom

Should this one be ok?? And if not where can I get a good one

I just checked Planet Emulation and it's all good, apart from a few pop ups
