I would like it to play movies, which would be a good plus for me, but I just want this thing to come out. It's gonna be awesome.

Tell me how that's possible and provide me a link to some valid info...
It's possible because Sony make most PSP components themselves. They won't have to open up new manufacturing plants to manufacture the parts either as they can use already established plants that currently is making parts for PS2 and other Sony products.
As for the link... meh don't remember where I read it. Check pspinsider.com and you might find something. But Sony will sell it at profit.
Well, yeah, it makes sense that the dev price would drop, given that they already have experience manufacturing PS2 components, but it still seems rather odd...
I'll check...
The DS has potential to be very very cool, but only if they really utilize the double screens. I mean, nobody cares that much about crap like seeing the rankings on mario kart....(at least I don't).
Uh, no. Sony's already stated that they're taking a hit on every system sold.Originally Posted by crusher
Doing this allows them to keep cost down, but that doesn't mean they are going to make a profit on the systems. Sorry to say it, but you're totally wrong. Sony themselves have stated that they're willing to take a hit on the systems, if it means they can make that up in games. It'd be nice if they could turn a profit on every PSP sold, but it aint gonna happen.Originally Posted by crusher

Aha! So you lied, eh...?Originally Posted by crusher
Yeah, it just doesn't make sense, like I said... Yes, PS2 technology is cheaper today than it was when it came out, but even so, the miniaturizing of the system's components adds to the cost, and I haven't heard of any gaming consoles nowadays which sell even at their actual production cost, so yeah...
Thanks for clearing that up, Cyb...
Yeah you are right, they won't make money on every sold system. I should have chosen my words more carefully in my previous posts. But Sony do infact expect to start profiting on the PSP after they've shipped/manufactured 3 million PSP units. As Kutaragi says: "That will be the break-even point for Sony's PSP to start making a profit."Originally Posted by Cyberxion

So I was "wrong" and "right" at the same time. Hey don't blame me, my english is lousy.
You seem to blame your Enlish everytime you fuck-up. Hmmn.
Not really. I don't think you've ever won anything in your life, you loser.Originally Posted by crusher
