Default I Like this band

Has anyone heard of opeth?

I think this band is brilliant. I was speaking to a friend and he passedme a few song to listen to, I can't believe I haven't listened to this before.

Has anyone else listened to this or what are your opinions on this band?

Opeth is great, yup. Still Life is my favorite Opeth-album, followed by Deliverance. I hear the upcoming release is going to be "more black than death metal"... or something.

I am the biggest Opeth fan here. Don't anyone try to challenge that, because you will lose. Crash and burn I say.

Album ranks change every day except for the bottom two, but here is how I currently rank them.

1. My Arms, Your Hearse
2. Still Life
3. Deliverance
4. Morningrise
5. Blackwater Park
6. Orchid
7. Damnation

The Moor is their best song. Followed by Black Rose Immortal. Mikael Akerfeldt is a god. I've seen them live. They played Paranoid and Billie Jean. They were both funny. I was the only one there in a Dream Theater shirt. I bought my guitar that day. I had to lug it around Sydney for 2 days. It was worth it. I spent the rest of my money on CD's etc. I couldn't get any of the cheap merch they had at the show. I couldn't eat till I got home. It was still worth it. Dungeon were the support act. They were also awesome. They played the Trogdor theme. Opeth>You...

Even I like Opeth and I hardly listen to them. They are good, though.

What a shitty post.

Anyway I thought I'd comment on the awesomeness of their DVD, "Lamentations: Live At Shephard's Bush Empire". They do a great clean set where they play all of Damnation plus Harvest, then after a short intermission, they come out and play Master's Apprentices, that fucking heavy opening riff is just a great contrast, then there's a great heavy set. The documentary is also really good, and the producer, Steven Wilson, is wearing a Dillinger Escape Plan shirt in it.

The setlist was way better when I saw them though.

Master's Apprentices
The Drapery Falls
The Moor
Windowpane
In My Time Of Need
To Rid The Disease
April Ethereal
Deliverance
Blackwater Park
Demon Of The Fall (encore)...
