The game is not fully emulated yet, your beter off looking at the PSX or maybe even the DC version.

PSX Dual Shock version has extra's in it aswell as the Dual Shock bit

I'm sure once Del_Boy see's this he will give you beter details on it.

Well, with project 64 1.5 with the sp1 patch and the default plug-ins you will get a black screen but you should hear some music(distorted) just press start and you should get to the main menu, you'll notice how the sound isn't too hot either.(keep pressing start to skip the movie sequences as they freeze quite a bit) The graphics seem good enough but with the pre-rendered backgrounds it seems like you're walking through a lot of stuff(disclosed 2 pics to illustrate point) the sound is also a problem with characters saying nothing on a test play.I Only played it as far as the gun shop, I'll play around with plug-ins and different emulators to try and find the best results if you'd like?

Default Resident evil 2 for n64

Not really a disscusion, but just a few notes on the n64 version of resident evil 2.

For the best Results you should use
    Project 64 with Project64 sp 1 patch
use the default plugins as they seem to work best(I'm working on a geforce mx440, i think its different for voodoo graphics cards)

Now even though i found this to be the best settings the game still suffers a lot of flaws
    1. A lot of polygon Models/objects seem to show through the pre-rendered backgrounds(being able to see a zombie through a wall)

2.Sound is also a problem with music going very scratchy in places, there are still monster effects(zombies, etc) the voice acting has dissapered.

    3. A lot of flickering when moving between screens and when opening doors.

4.when you open a save state, sometimes the game will freeze, simply close project 64 reopen it and open the save state again to stop it freezing(you may have to do this two or three times)

5.The opening movie has no sound(the one showing the zombies head), but the cg sequences do not play at all, Just press start to skip these anyway.

6.Also at the begining you should hear some patchy music just press start to go to the main menu

This is playable(just about) but you may be better off just waiting for a better emulator or plugin to come out or better yet get the playstation version.

Wow, you got talking as well.

Oh one more thing i found was that i tried to change the audio plugins and fiddle with the plugin i was using and the game just didn't work at all

someone should start a thread about what emulator/plugins get optimum results for a particular game

i wouldn't really bother with an emulated version of RE2 for the N64. yeah, you are better off with RE2 either for PC, PSX or DC. all of which can be used on ur pc and off.
