Default What Castlevania/Akumajo Dracula Games have you played?

I'm an avid fan of the castlevania series and was wondering who played what games in the castlevania series

    here's what i've played:
    Castlevania(Amiga Version)
    Castlevania(Nes Version)
    Castlevania 2 Simon's Quest
    Castlevania 3 Dracula's Curse
    Vamipre Killer(Msx)
    Castlevania Bloodlines
    Aria of Sorrow
    Harmony of Dissonence
    Circle of the moon
    Dracula X rondo of blood
    Dracula X(Snes Version)
    Super Castlevania 4
    Symphony of the night
    Lament of Innocence

The only ones i think i haven't played are the gameboy mono and the commerdore 64 castlevania.

You should certainly track down the rest and give them a try. They may not end up being your thing, but they're definately worth a try at least.

    Vampire Killer (all versions)
    Haunted Castle
    Castlevania
    Castlevania II
    Castlevania III: Dracula's Curse
    Castlevania Adventure
    Castlevania II: Belmont's Revange
    Castlevania Legends
    Super Castlevania IV
Dracula X: The Rondo of Blood
    Castlevania: Bloodlines
    Castlevania: Dracula X/Vampire Kiss
    Castlevania: SOTN
    Castlevania: Legacy of Darkness
    Castlevania: COTM
    Castlevania: HOD
    Castlevania: AOS
    Castlevania: LOI

Yeah that's all of them. The only one I haven't played is the original version of the Chronicles game. Although, that version is featured in the "remake" so technically, I have played it.

That's my list. Lament of Innocence is very good. Gets difficult on some of the jumping, but great nonetheless.

Well The Castlevania Chronicles was originally for the X68000 and i think the only differnce is the music, If you'd like i could pm you a site that has an emulator that works chronicles and the chronicles rom.

Oh and i forgot the N64 games i played them as well. Still leaves the gameboy ones

Heh, thanks but no thanks. I like the remixed versions of the songs in that game so I don't think I want to play the original.

IMO, Lament was just alright. Not a bad game by any means, but it didn't really feel too much like a Castlevania game to me. I can't really explain it, aside to note that it wasn't the move to 3-D that messed it up for me. I'm one for change, if done right. The move to 3-D was a good one. It's just that it seems in moving the series into 3-D, they had trouble coming up with ways to make it feel like a true Castlevania game. I did I enjoy the game, and look forward to thier next attempt at a 3-D Castlevania game. I just hope next time they're able to pull it off a bit better, and make it feel more like a traditional Castlevania game.

I agree, but Lament of Innocence was a big improvement over the n64 offerings

No doubt. The game was great. It was heads and tails above the N64 games.

    That I wont dispute.

However, I felt the game could've been a bit more representative of just what Castlevania is, given that it was made by the guy who helmed the last few GBA releases.

In all his bravado, Koji Igarashi shunned the N64 games. But when it came down to it, he didn't give us a truly excellent 3-D Castlevania game. Sure, superficially Lament feels like a Castlevania game. But considering that the guy's been pimping the series so much, and claiming it as his own, he pretty much dropped the ball with Lament of Innocence.

I love the game, but as a long time fan of Castlevania, I can't help but feel let down by it. It was fun, but it pretty much could've been called Devil May Cry 3, and we wouldn't have known the difference....
