Default What is more important to you?

What do you feel is more important in music? Pretty self-explanatory.

I'd have to say it's instrumental work, since it always catches my attention first, then would come the quality of the vocals. If both of those are good, then most likely the lyrics would also pwn ass, but there are cases in which they suck. What do you think?

I would probably say vocals first, just when I first hear something it sticks out more than anything. However if a band has really tight instrumentals than I can forgive crappy singing. Lyrics usually come last as you don't know them until you know the song.

However after I know a song for awhile lyrics get bumped up on the list of importance.

Vocals/instruments. Same thing anyway. Lyrics don't mean shit. Go read some poetry those who oppose me...

Instrumental work, no matter how good the vocals are, if the instrumental work is shit, the song will be shit.

Instrumental work and vocals equal. I can't like a band who have a good instrumental work, but a crap singer (like The Music) or the other way round.

    All of the above.

I'm think i'm equal with Vocals and Instruments.

Sometimes my favorite part of a songs is how the singer says the lyrics, almost as if vocals are an instrument. Sometimes I just love the way the instruments are played..

Vocals are an instrument. And they are the most versatile instrument. Hence why I said they are the same thing...

a band can't jsut play the same chords in different ways for one whole song. change is good. breakdowns, bridges, crazy stuff inbetween make music.

I think instruments, due to being a guitarist (not much of one, but I am ) Then vocals and lyrics are both the same importance to me.

Vocals and Instrumentals are most important to me, but the lyrics still matter to me just not as much as the vocals or instruments...
