Have your formated the memory?
To do this, put a Sega CD game in and power it. Hold A. It should go to some CD-R player. Select "Memory" and then select "Format (console picture)". Also format "RAM" if the option is enabled. Select "Exit" then restart the console. Your ready to play
You'll need to format "RAM" for each game you play. Don't format the other more than once since it keeps your saved games.
Good luck, polobunny.
Edit->If only holding A doesn't work, hold it and press Start at the Sega CD logo.
As wierd as it may sound, i cant figure out how the hell to have the system hooked up and power on the sega cd. I can get the main base to power on, but nothing else ><
Where did you buyed your Gen-SEGA CD combo?
Edit->Does it looks like this

Are the systems physically linked through the expansion bay? I've had some people tell of the same problems and they just had the two sitting by each other, expecting "magic" to happen So you never know

lol yea they are hooked together.... do i need 2 power supplies or something? Its not the combo unit, ill go take a picture and post back.
There may have been an interface problem with certain models of sega genesis and CD. I am fairly certain some just wouldn't work well together. Though I could be mistaken as it has been a long time since I've messed witht the system

THis is suppose to work, im positive of that heh.
Hooking up my Sega CD causes the power light to go off on my Genesis.
Try cleaning the contacts on the bottom right hand side of the Genesis with a pink art eraser. Try plugging the AC adapter into a different outlet. If your Genesis has a gray reset button, try plugging the AC adapter from the Sega CD into the Genesis to see if the Sega CD adapter is working.
That's from their website. Though not directly related it may help.
