Arrow The search to find myself cool music

Okay, I'm trying to find cool music that I like. I dont think I like just one thing, but I probably do, oh well.

Anyways, I'm trying to find some cool bands, some bands I currently like are:

    Anathema
    Boy hits car
    30 seconds to mars
    Alexisonfire
    DreamTheatre (kinda, not sure yet.)
    Opeth
Funeral for a friend (Maby, only heard a little)
    NIN
    Muse
    Neskimos (heh, they are cool)
    A Perfect Circle
OSI (just now listend to them, so far so good)
    Stabbing Westward
Castlevania music, gitaroo man music (but I wanna stay away from game music, for now)

And more, dont really feel like putting them here. But can you help me on my search? ... or as I like to call it, my quest for cool music.

    Thanks.

    NESkimos lose.

Their newer stuff is sounding ok, though.

The Minibosses are where it's at.

Katatonia - Judging by your list, I'd say listen to 'Last fair deal gone Down' and 'Viva Emptiness'.
edit: Also, 'Tonight's Decision' would likely suit you too.

    and

VAST - Listen to their first album (Self titled), then their second 'Music for People', then forget about their third. The demo tracks for it are much better then the finished product.
edit: 'Nude' is VAST's third album, Turquoise and Crimson are like EPs - they are the demo tracks for Nude, and are much better than it.

"Voltaire is a singer/songwriter whose music has its roots deeply imbedded in European folk music. His songs speak of love and, most often, the loss thereof with the added twist of how best to seek revenge on the ones who have hurt you. Lyrically, he explores and reveals those moments of vulnerability most would rather not discuss and exploits with childish abandon those fleeting streaks of cruelty we all feel but choose not to act upon or even mention."

But really, his songs are just so light, and they may even make you crack a smile.

I'd suggest "Future Ex Girlfriend", "Almost Human", and "The Chosen".

Well, whatever its genre is, any other bands good in that genre? I love dillinger escape plan.

If you liked Anathema, check out Katatonia, Crowbar, Agalloch, Blacck Sabbath. Definately check out Green Carnation and their album: Light of Day, Day of Darkness. Also check out Paramaecium, a mix of Doom(Anathema) and Death(Opeth) metal.
I see you're somewhat into death metal, so check out Arsis(album: A Celebration of Guilt). It's so damned good in every aspect. It's a new band, so you might have trouble trying to find it on common networks. I got it off eMule thanks to EselMetal, but I'm sure you can find it on DC++. More awesome death metal bands: Decapitated, Avulsed, and Cannibal Corpse.
If you like melodic death metal(sweeter sounding death metal), definately check out In Flames earlier albums, Children of Bodom, Soilwork, In Slumber, and lastly Pandemonium, a very cool unknown band which you can check out at their official site(pandemonium-metal.com).
If you're into NIN, then you'll love Rob Zombie but I prefer White Zombie. It's more like death metal though.
    Enjoy.

I absoutley love Anathema, i'll have to check out the other bands but i'm not sure if i'll like 'em. To me Anathema is perfect.

Also, I love Dream Theatre's music, but i'm not a big fan of the singing, at least yet... may grow on me... meh.

And, VAST is cool, and so is Poison the Well.

    >> Having trouble finding Paramaecium, wanted to check 'em out.

    >> In flames is great

    >> Pandominum is pretty cool, I wanna try to find some other bands though that dont do the low groan singing, (like Anathema) I still have to check out some more of your suggestions though, thanks guy.

    >>>>I really wanna make a double post, but I wont... this is like the 5th time i've edited this... SOERU, Can you help me with providing me some paramaecium? I cannont find them and I really want a couple of songs from them to check 'em out. Thanks.

    Metalcore (Dillinger)

    Converge
    Between The Buried And Me
    Lamb Of God
    Shadows Fall
    Poison The Well
Most of them don't sound that much like tDEP, but are lumped in he same genre.

I don't know what DT you've heard, but Fatal Tragedy gained my interest and Metropolis Pt 1 gained my love for them (and LaBrie is amazing on this song/album).

    Random bands to check out

    The Cure
    The Black Dahlia Murder
    Ben Folds Five
    Slayer
    Faith No More
    Rush
    The Weakerthans
    Bright Eyes
METALLICA! (Everything, not just the old stuff, including Purify off St Anger)...

Sorry about that, I never check my PM's. I sent a PM with a link.

Here's some more classic Heavy/thrash/speed metal bands you should check out:
Slayer, Blind Guardian, Manowar, Judas Priest, and Megadeth.

If you want even more death and doom metal bands, just ask. I'll keep an eye on this thread.
