What happened when all your data is gone, does that mean someone formated the comp,cause my mom was the last one using the comp and the next day all the info was gone.
Crap, my dad was so mad he woke me up from sleep and asked me if I messed with the comp, cause he spent 2 hrs just getting 1/2 of the stuff back. But could you use a dvd to record all the info on your comp?My sisters is fine only the net settings were changed, although the net is connected to both comps through a hub.

I format C: every once in a while, and reinstall the OP with a CD that came with the PC. I do it... Once a month, maybe. But I do backup my most important files to CDs, so I don't lose it. YOU KNOW.

i doubt it. there was probably just a virus, because if you format your hard drive, you won't have an operating system to check for lost data. lol. but if your father put the os back on then, eh, but i doubt your mom did anything directly leading to the format.
