Default Some questions about ps2 game burning and modchips...

1.) Is there any modchips that actually play everything normally without any boot disk garbage?

2.) How can you tell whether a ps2 game is on a CD or DVD? (blue is cd and silver is dvd isn't it?)

3.) How can you make an image of a cd based ps2 game?

4.) How can you make an image of a dvd based ps2 game?

I might think of more...so watch this post for edits...

All modern modchips do not require a boot disk. The only ones that require boot discs are the really old chips like the Neo 2.2 that are only a handful of wires.

Have a look at http://www.ps2ownz.com for some good advice and lots of reliable chip fitters.

Alohol 120% can make DVD images. It has a special PS2 mode of burning. Just about any program that can make CD images can make DVD images.

I don't know about a modchip for a version one. Those are a lot different. You could email the guy at www.pacificmods.com I bet he would be happy to answer your question.

It's odd because I look at the ebay feedback on the main page and it boosts their credibilty way up...but then I notice that they are the only site I've ever seen with a Magic 3.2, everywhere else is 3.1
