I don't play the game myself, don't really have time for MMORPGS, but I know some people who do and they think it's great. I've read some positive thingsa about it, and it looks pretty keen. So, without further ado:

Sorry, I had no idea. My friend has been trying to get me to sign up for a while, so I just assumed that it was still an open beta. Whoops =/

I'm not sure if it counts but Anarchy Online is "free" for one year right now. It's a sci-fi MMORPG with optional pvp. The only thing is that it's just for basic Anarchy Online, as in the expansions aren't included.

This was my first MMORPG and I played it exclusively for three years. Sadly, the coming of school forced me to quit. It's worth a try since it's free for the time being.

Concerning the game itself, it has a lot of content. There are numerous quests and there are even mission terminals that you can get random missions from to earn some credits/items. It's soloable at lower levels but grouping will be required later to maximize the xp output in the shortest amount of time.

I'm not sure if this has been referred to yet, but Gravity, the company that bought us 5 years of open beta for Ragnarok Online (of God, my brother still plays that) is coming up with a full 3d MMORPG. I believe it is called ROSE Online

It can't compare to EQ and stuff, but it's free, 3d and runs in a browser window... plus, it has some 70k players online most of the time

Well, to tell you the reason, back when I was doing this thread...it wasn't free. Well to my knowledge that is. Yeah, Ragnarok looked really good and I was thinking of putting it on the list but I didn't.

Hmmm...looks like i got alot of catching up to do.
I'll add all of your games the list soon so it will be more organized.
I have a weak connection so I am no longer able to try out any of the games.
The list will grow but the games will be for you to test.
