MAME and KOF2003

I cant seem ot get it to run...i am using MAME32 Plus! 0.78u1 to play. I have never used MAME before...so i put the game files into the roms subdirectory and then entered MAME32 plus and double clicked the game. Is there anything i did wrong?

What does it say when you click the game???
maybe you didnt name the rom correctly.
Try pressing F5 when you start up MAME and see if it recognizes it

I have a version for MAME that is said to play KOF2003. I'm not sure if it works because I have the emulator but not the rom. The MAME name is "MAME32K PLUS for KOF2003" and then a patch called "win98 mame32plus KOF2k3 FIX". Together the files are 7.95 MB. You should look for these files if all your options fail.

well...I downloaded the rom from http://www.interacesso.pt/~karsh/www...et/kof2003.rar

I downloaded it and extracted everything
then, i put the game files into the rom subdirectory
then, i opened the emulator that came with the rom
then, the game was on the list, so i double clicked it
then, a popup came up and said "*******.*** NOT FOUND
**********.*** NOT FOUND
...
...
and it continues for many files
then it says game files not found
and the only thing I can click is ok

When I got MAME32k, some files were not included.
These files were:

neo-geo.rom
ng.sfix.rom
ng.sm1.rom
ng-lo.rom

Make sure you get have these files. If you don't then, you can get these files from another emulator: Neo-Rage X. The files above should be included in the zip with the emulator. Copy those files into the rom folder for MAKE32k or copy the files directy into the rom zip (which I recommend). Then try again. If it doesn't work, then you might need a patch for the rom.

Also, when you get the error that lists the files that are missing, you should keep that mini screen on and open the rom zip with winzip. Then try comparing the files and see which ones are missing.
