I would recommend that you try the newest version of 1964. It has a faster and more compatible core. What are you computer specs and plugins you are using?

Its version 1.5 with plugins that came bundled with it. Such as jabo_Dinput.dll and jabo_Direct3d.dll(may be slightly diffrent). I THINK those are the plugins.

Also, maby its something in my cpu because ePSXe does it as well.

My specs are AMD ATHLON XP 2500+
    1.83 GHZ
    512 MB of RAM
    Nvidia GeForce FX 5200...

also, i tried alt+enter and the games run perfect.... that is, when they're windowed.

Check the setting for full screen res in the plugin setup for GFX.

Options then Configure Graphics Plugin... for that.

Just make sure it's not set to something either your GFX card or Monitor does not support

Setting it to your desktop settings would be a good idea to start with matching it's color depth and res

I have a 5200, and I used to have this problem. Before I updated my drivers I had to always turn this one setting on to play games FullScreen. Is it locking up your computer when you try to go fullscree?
Your best bet is to update the drivers. That fixed my fullscreen problem.

If you can't make it go full screen properly you could always cheat by setting the window mode to the resolution of your desktop.

cool thanks everything works good now. Um, just curious how can I optimize my settings to be the highest (not counting resolution) on Project 64? The games run perfect. And i was wondering what I could do to make the better. If any. The ONLY Nitch i'm having is that letters and usually hud screens are fairly blurry. I was wondering if there is any way around this?

If so please let me know, thank you.

*Just for you info, the game is papermario*

I have the same thing, some parts seems kinda blurry. Maybe it's in the graphics plugins? Maybe still some developing to do in that area getting the blurrynes out...

or it might be that the pixels are designed for the order on a TV, it is different than a monitor...I play all my games through my video output to my TV, and they all look like the original...except with higher res 3D...

Thats funny... the letters seem fine on my monitor and I tried using my other newer monitor to see if it was the monitor but the leters still looked fine to me. Here are my graphics settings for Jabo's GFX Plugin:

After you've copied down the options tell me so I can remove them from my website.

EDIT: Images removed from my website. If you can still see them you made need to wipe your cache.

Eek at the amount you have ticked in advanced options. Those should only really be used in certain games - the disable internal one especially.

Force filtered and force normal are ones that can often stay on always.

As for the text - mention some games so I can test-

I never said they were good options, I meerly suggested that my options be used for correcting the text.

Forced filtered rendering and force normal are the two main ones that may be good for text.

The others may cause more problems than they solve - but worth checking out anyways.

I must stress though, if someone ever has an issue with an N64 game - please note down one example for others to check.
