Right now, it's either Less Than Jake's 'The Science of Seling Yourself Short', or Steppenwolf's 'Magic Carpet Ride'....

Symphony X - The Odyssey
Oddly enough, this is not only my favorite song of the moment, but it has been my favorite since I first heard it a year ago.

Aesop Rock - No Regrets
A beautiful track from his hip hop concept album (!) Labor Days. I'm not going to try and explain this too much, listen to it yourself. It tells an interesting story in a wonderful way, although you may have to listen to the track a couple of times to get used to his cigarette-scarred voice and decipher his words. You may have to eventually track down a lyrics sheet to keep up with his rapid delivery, but he doesn't stumble once, he's consistently coherent and eloquent. A very poetic style used here, as I said, beautiful... Listen to it once, listen to it twice, listen to it thrice, fall in love. When I say listen, I mean listen. Hang onto every word. If you think that hip hop is all bling-bling gangster crap, this should shatter that conviction. No profanity, just a delicacy of music.
Oh, and the backing music production is suitably lovely, placing importance mostly on melody.
You REALLY want the world to know that you're slightly into hip-hop now, don'tcha Jim? So is like everyone. Even Johnny (though not Johnny Wonderpants).
Even Though i dont usually like dance/techno ;
Haddaway - What Is Love (Reloaded Mix)
While I will admit it was a might foolish of me to droll on and on about it not being music and all. I still cannot listen to that swill. And yes, I have heard all the jedi mind tricks, del, and shit. I consider it music, but I also consider it bollocks...Originally posted by Toto

It's just another genre. You've seen me go on about punk, ska, metal, emo, hardcore, prog, post rock and bugger knows what else at some stage in time. Seeing as though hip hop's a bloody sizeable genre which I've been a cunt to until recently, I'm allowed to talk about it a little... energetically. Especially seeing as though I'm just getting into it and it's all new to me. So die and stuff.
There's a slight chance you might like cLOUDDEAD, Johnjohn. Just think of it as post rock with odd vocal delivery. It's occasionally Sigur Ros-like. Well, not really. Apparently lots of hip hop fans hate it and think it's rubbish, which may encourage you...
